Andrea Stella's hug with Lando is pretty much what the world needs rn. My eyes might've gotten a little sweaty right then

Having driven it on a sim, I could understand why drivers might want that there. With the dropoff after the turn, the apex and rest of the curb aren't all that visible... combine that with the terrible vision the drivers have out of these cars, they might not be able to see much of the curb at all coming into that corner.

It's ridiculous as the base of that slim bollard looks to have been SCREWED into the track layer to hold it firmly, whoever thought of that and allowed it to be mounted like that is not fit to be anywhere near a race track.

Maybe you will but I'm going WEC for my auto fun. The FIA has jumped the shark on 2026 rules. They better slow the F2's down or it's going to be embarrassing. This life long F1 fan is likely to tap out in 2026.

Oh HELL, the race director must be fired and banished immediately!!!
The Safety Car rules were NOT followed properly. The director must have acted with malice of forethought just like Masi. THIS CANNOT STAND Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur emphasized how a safety car mistake during the Miami Grand Prix benefited Lando Norris, describing McLaren's advantage as "a stroke of luck" due to the error. He pointed out that when the safety car was deployed, it mistakenly picked up Max Verstappen instead of Norris, who was leading after his rivals had pitted. This allowed Norris to extend his stint and pit without pressure, as he emerged in front of the safety car instead of behind it, securing his lead without the threat of losing it to Red Bull. "I would say that probably Lando [Norris] was a bit lucky, because he was the only one on track," "But more than this, I think it's the fact that they put the safety car in front of [Max] Verstappen.” "They are so used to having Verstappen leading the pack that they sent the safety car in front of him and the safety car was quite slow and it was a very good move at the end for Lando." Norris was ahead of pit lane when the safety car came out. They then let all the cars pass the safety car so Lando didn't get a lap advantage from the situation. All per FIA rules.

The safety car is supposed to pickup the leader. VER wasn't the leader. The FIA followed the spirit of the law not letting NOR gain a lap. But Freddie was pointing out NOR gained an advantage because the FIA didn't follow the letter of the law. Point is there is always going to be luck and gray areas in racing. |

yeah, no worries, just what I read in the article, which makes sense, if they need a quick safety car, they can't always get it out in front of the leader, sometimes it just needs to come out where it comes out. They tried to catch Norris, but didn't quite get it. Either way, he probably would have still came out in the lead since pretty much everyone else was going to pit under SC as well.
