Haha, my bad then. BJ circa 1st Uno fight, versus Aldo is a fight I'd buy on ppv

Yea, we'll see how BJ looks against Matt Hughes in a couple weeks. Either Edgar is his kryptonite or he's just lost the edge.

He needs to switch training camps too, maybe that'll bring back the "old him."

I think the way BJ performs during this next fight will dictate whether or not he has any gas left in the tank.

I think BJ couldn't, Edgar was too good of a wrestler.
When you actually think about it, the caliber of fighters is always evolving and everyone who's actually a contender is "good" at all aspects of the game. Pure wrestlers like Hughes and Randy had to seriously cross train to boxing/kickboxing/muay thai, aside from having to know BJJ. The best in the game right now have no real weakness in any one particular area. Pure BJJ guys had to learn striking, and pure strikers had to learn wrestling and BJJ. I think that's why it's so competitive, and hardly anyone holds the belt for an extended period of time (save for Silva).

Edgar is pretty well rounded, i just think he has BJ's number. Just like I think Machida is a good fighter but Shogun has him worked out, not to take anything away from Shogun as I think he's always one of the best in the LHW.
The fact that people are so split between BJ and Aldo makes me think it would be such a great fight. Surely Aldo needs to step up, there can be no other way. |

as much as i woud love to see it, i dont think it will ever happen. BJ is fighting at 170 and he's suppose to drop to 145? he was already a big 155 as is. The only way would be for Aldo to move up. I really wanna see Aldo vs Edgar, think once Ben Henderson takes him out, Edgar will move down to 145 where he belongs

man, the WEC pulls it off again by another outstanding night of fights. Cub Swanson vs Mackens Semerzier was fucking epic, Mackens has a hell of a chin, he took some hard shorts. Urijah looked like his old self, 135 seems to be a better place for him.

Does anyone else feel that BJ is fighting again too soon?
I think he needs more time to change up his training camp and reinvent himself a little. Those Edgar fights were horrible for him. He is really going to need a serious game plan and serious prep time for Matt Hughes. I know Matt may be a little past his prime but he is still one tough SOB. Not to mention he is a lot bigger and stronger than BJ and has quite an impressive resume of wins over BJJ experts. I'm seeing a lot of danger for BJ in this fight. He cannot afford a loss to Matt and if he does anything other than completely dedicated himself and make serious changes to his training camp, Matt Hughes will crush him. I don't see him winning by anything other than out-striking Matt and he is going to have to be in great shape to do that and keep Matt off him at the same time.

Wow, I wanted to see BJ ko Hughes and it played out perfectly for him. The Rampage decision was a bit controversial, I was expecting a Draw. Anyways, I'm excited for the rematch.
I think George Sotoropolus is looking in great form. When he's on top, his ground game looks wicked. Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi Oi Oi! |

BJ looked like the same guy that dominated Diego Sanchez and made Kenny Florian his bitch, not the old slow man who fought Franky Edgar, great to see him in good form again. I had BJ winning the fight, just not like that Sotoropolus looked strong, so did Lauzon but looked like he gassed, amazing fight. Falco looked amazing at times but man, WTF w/ the 3rd round. Barboza looks like a guy to watch out for, my legs are hurting just from watching those kicks. Sadly Parisyan looks done. Sick move by Phil Davis w/ his own version of the kimora. Great card overall, surprisingly. |

I thought it was a great card...
BJ looked like he had the fire back in his eyes. Looked like a completely different fighter, even in 21 seconds haha... but like everyone said I wasnt expecting that outcome so quick I thought the Rampage vs. Machida decision was the right call. And I believe its Machidas fault, just the way he fights mad him lose that first round. Neither fighter really landed a clean shot in the first round but since Rampage was pushing the pace and Machida just kept retreating it doesnt look good in the judges eyes. I think a rematch would be the same type of fight so I dont know that it would be that interesting. I grew up wrestling with Phil Davis, and probably one of the funniest guys I have ever met! His post fight interview just made the night for me! haha BUt he is the real deal... he is very flexible and with the wrestling background and pedigree that he has its gonna be tough to beat him in that aspect. But there are so many quality fighters in that weight class, and especially strikers so that might pose a problem for him. And like escobar said, I was feelin the pain from those leg kicks from Barboza!! They looked brutal

Johnson looked good against brookes but his ground game on his back is horrible. He really needs to learn how to defend better there. Did anyone catch Strikeforce? It was one of the best mma cards I've seen this year! |

UFC is not the LV Athletic Commission. The judging was whack as well but not rigged by any means. Leonard Garcia looks real active so he wins decisions. The reason most likely is these are boxing judges and they are not fully capable at judging MMA.

great victory by Silva, althought Kyle ate one too many shots towards the end but great fight. I was hoping Hands of stone would knock out Paul Daley but I didnt think it would happen. good to see Henderson looking like he used to back in the day, nice KO, so was Robbie Lawlers |
