My job when I was in college had a promotion where we sold Coca Cola plastic travel mugs with stick-on mounting bases. The Pepsi delivery truck driver saw them, and asked how much they cost. We gave him one for free, if he promised to stick the mounting base to the dashboard of the Pepsi truck. That mug stood out like a sore thumb through the windshield, with the Coke logo around all of the Pepsi branding!!!!!

I did business with Quaker Oats and would travel to the Tower in Chicago. Once Pepsi bought them, all the Coke machines were removed from the building. The Blue vs Red, and I don't mean politics, is real.

I did one worse. I was having lunch with executives from a bottling company years ago. Although they were owned by an independent Pepsi bottler, their company name was something completely different. Anyway, what do I do when the waitress asked me what I wanted to drink? I ordered a freakin Coke. Yes I did. OMG! They were cool though and laughed it off.

I worked there after they already owned Quaker. The thing people don't realize is how many brands are truly owned by Pepsi. If you packed a lunch it was a nightmare to try and not bring in something that was not a competitor product, because we literally had a product in every type of food market.

i do this all the time. wear competitor shirts and hats so they give me free shirts and hats with our logo
