I'm finding the larger benefit for me is the $600/week I get for my Saturday night DJ gig being furloughed.

Most government agencies primarily use Surefire suppressors because of the contract. They're decent suppressors.

DD and silencerco are also highly reviewed. I own both and they are awesome.

Yeah, the Surefire mentioned earlier disappeared, but there are a ton of awesome Form 4 suppressors on the market now...not sure why anyone would go with such a long/heavy/underperforming/expensive can given all the options that have come out over the last year or so. It's old tech and the mounting system isn't all that spectacular either.

Just bought a new M1A. And in the process of getting a M1 Garand and M1 Carbine, both from the mid '40's.

Polymer80 G19. Took a good bit of massaging to get it all fitted. Haven't had the chance to put any rounds through it yet though.

Yep, Brownell standard slide (no window) with the F&R cuts. It seems like a fantastic slide, I really really like it. Trigger is polymer 80 as well. I wanted to go stock Glock, but it was sold out. Feels nice, has a pretty light pull, and I like how angular it is. It came with a more rounded trigger, but I didn't bother with swapping. There was some burrs that needed to be removed on the "arm" of the trigger, and I wet sanded / polished it up a good bit. Reset seems to work fine, pull is great, just need to take it to the range.

I was gonna say, it's ripe for a 25 cent trigger job...well worth the time.

Usually, but not always, longer suppressors are quieter. But there is a bunch of short suppressors that perform real well from different manufacturers. Just depends on caliber, barrel length, etc.

Sure, I mean, don't get me wrong...this is coming from someone that runs a Specwar 7.62 which is neither short, nor light...but it was cheap and suppression is among the best, so at least it has some redeeming qualities.

But yeah, there are shorter/lighter/cheaper cans that all perform better overall than the Surefire .30 cal cans...that's all I was saying.

Oh I got you. The biggest issue is the large number of options paired with the difficulty and costliness in buying them.

I wish it was more like a TV that you can just buy and exchange if it didn't perform as expected.

Agreed...once you buy one you're, more or less, stuck with it for life.

Kinda why I'll be going with form 1's the next go around. They won't be cheap to build, but at least they'll be speced exactly as I want them and will only take ~1 month for approval.

Lucky! I'm working on obtaining an FFL post-COVID with a SOT so hopefully I'll be joining you!

It's a crapshoot right now:
https://www.nfatracker.com/

The most recent one I picked up in October took 12 months to the day (Form 4 - Trust).
