mate his lap was still slower than Lewis' until 2nd sector like 0.4 seconds and Mercs are better in last sector.. and Max was hustling with the wheel.. if you re telling he got distracted by Vettel i can agree but actually he made the last right turn as the way he wanted.. you should thank Vettel for spinning before that turn.. thats why he was going to the pits and was around at that moment..

My point is/was : Why MAX spun in the last turn ?
You guys can clearly see that MAX had to leave the perfect line on the inside and pulled it to the outside while he had to brake on the outside , he had to drive over the curbs and spun !
The cause why MAX spun was "SEB" slowing down in front of him in the last turn .

Rain, the great equalizer. Best qualie in a long time and wish they had more on board for Max, he was on the razors edge every time the camera was on him. But Lewis was the better man today and you can’t take anything away from him - DAS or not, RAIN.

One might argue that Max had better machinery today, downforce > DAS or power in the rain. I wouldn't make that argument as my take on this - rain is the great equalizer and any difference in machinery is marginalized

I don't think we really know which car was easier to drive in the rain and/or faster potentially (not characteristics which necessarily go hand-in-hand). Also, rain may be called the great equalizer, and it does generally bring teams much closer, but it does not always make the differences between machinery inconsequential.

Guessing you've never been on track in the rain to see the differences setup can make.

I dont think DAS played a role in qualifying today.

Was really happy to see Russell in Q2. It would be awesome to see what he can do in a Mercedes car.

I’m from Michigan, if you don’t drive in the rain, you miss out on a lot of TrackTime. But we didn’t have adjustable Suspension, brake bias etc. if that’s your point.

Either way, enjoyed watching Max and Lewis shine as all the greats seem to do in the wet.

guys when Red Bulls perform better its Max when its not its Lewis' car..
and actually Red Bulls were not bad at all today.. 1.2 seconds difference cant only come from car.. Bottas was 1.4 seconds behind with the same car.. please dont overlook this.. i have no problem with Max.. with new the Max i better say starting from last year.. but he left out of cards today.. even he said this after quali talk.. its racing.. its normal..

tomorrow ll be a cooler weather dry race.. all sensors, plug where they are start the race!!
