Think there is any chance of it getting the HO 3.5EB from the F-150 Raptor? Really hope it's not just a tuned 2.7l.

Flash news: Ford dealers unanimously agreed on a min. 50k dealer markup for the upcoming Bronco Raptor.

Jokes aside, I would really love to own one of those…

Saw a 2 door during the snow storm on Monday. It didn't seem as much of a monstrosity the 4 door is. They're still really tall though... he probably didn't get stuck.

My brother has been very intrigued by the Bronco and took me for a test drive. Maybe it's my inherent bias toward sporty luxury cars, but I really was not a fan. The Bronco felt like a toy rather than a daily driver. Soft top model had horrible rattles even in the parking lot and insane wind noise as the speed climbs. Noisy engine too. Weird experience for me sitting so high up that I was looking down at 4Runners and Wranglers.

I won't harp on the interior since it's a utilitarian off-roader that will get dirty inside. Styling and tech are really good. Very long wait list and high price. I can see the appeal as a toy for driving locally and/or off-roading, but not with the way the market is right now.

Saw the 2 door and 4 door at the dealership the other day and they are both eye catching. Wanted to test drive the 2 door but didn’t have time. ☹️

Official teaser:

Turns out it doesn't have the 2.7 or 3.5, but a 3.0TT. Presumably a modified version of the MKZ/Continental engine that they also put in the new Explorer. Interesting choice to go with a car engine in a BOF truck.

I don't know. IMO it's pretty homely. I realize they are required with the poked wheels but the rubbermaid fender flares look bad.

Sadly I agree, for the money and size, I think I would just get a Raptor. I'm still waiting for my Badlands and the Rubicon is on my bucket list. The extra width of this thing could be a problem. That said I'm sure this thing will be badass off road, and I am probably going to end up with 37s on my bronco (IF IT EVER GETS BUILT!!!!).

All this ADM stuff would stop if it weren't for a few frittatas who hang their entire identity on being "first."

You can still find Launch Edition A90 Supras under MSRP when a few years ago people were paying $20-30-40k above for them............only for the car to be updated the next year and have different colored side view mirrors.

Meh, expected more. 3.0L is an interesting choice. The fenders do look tacked on.

Why is it more expensive than the F-150 Raptor? The 400 hp 3.0L Explorer ST starts at 48k. 70k starting price is crazy.

Those fenders are hideous. Don't know why someone would buy this over the 392 Wrangler for $6k more which already includes a whole bunch of "options" (from lower trims) as standard. One also has a V8 and one does not. Gas mileage is a factor for some people I guess but I just can't see the value here.

Agree, I would take 392 Wrangler over Bronco Raptor. But I would much rather have a base Bronco over a base Wrangler. Fuel mileage on a 2.7L Sasquatch is 17mpg combine, the 3.0L will be worse. Might as well put in a V8 at that point, but they didn't out of convenience. It is plug and play, since 3.0 is an offshoot of the 2.7.

You can also get a 392 for $6-8k off MSRP on an order and dealers are going to have some ridiculous ADM on these which means it makes even less sense vs the 392. Wrangler also has proven resale value advantage

I'm sure people dropping this kind of coin on their mall crawler likely aren't concerned over a few mpg on the highway.

Even the non-Raptor Bronco, and the Wrangler for that matter, I really don't understand. They are loud, ride rough, get shitty mpg, etc. The VAST majority of people never take them anywhere you'd need that kind of capability.

Hell you can literally look up a video of a guy taking a Crown Vic on Hell's Revenge in Moab.

So really these vehicles have become a "look at how much money I spent"

Here in Florida people love lifted trucks and SUVs on huge ass wheels. None of these vehicles will ever be taken off-road. It’s really only about the looks and grabbing attention. I know a local guy who owns a custom six-wheel Wrangler. He barely ever drives this thing.

About as likely as your average M4 owner to take his/her car to the track.

Very true. But at least it will do daily driving duties in comfort.
