It's been talked about many times and whichever way you look at the '21 last race it was Merc who chose too defensive a strategy for LEW not taking into account that a safety car later was high risk and leaving him on tyres that were 43 laps worn at the end.
Merc had the quicker car also and RB boss Horner explains that he would never have followed Merc's strat, they were simply not on the ball to read what could turn into a problem for them especially with two RB cars playing a meaningful strat earlier until PER's car dropped off with low oil pressure but his action in holding HAM before he slowed worked well.
HAM was leading all the laps from lap 21 until before the last one when the Williams' crashed, Wolff and co were already quietly celebrating.
MAX won the race and got the FL on lap 39 for the extra point.

Fred 'looks' like he knows what he's doing, knows how to talk to ppl, cosy up to LEW and others maybe a little too much lol and be seen as a friendly chap with everyone but he is missing that special 'Monty touch when he was there.
He's too old and plump, doesn't look like a team leader which doesn't fit in with the way others look working in the team..Fred is the wrong one I'm afraid.
