LOL. This is reason #2 why soccer has not gained much respect among the majority of americans...shitty refs who make bs calls, all the time. If you forgot what reason one is: every player from every country being a limp-wrist pansy bitch and pretending to be hurt if someone on the other team so much as looks at them.
All those douchebags should take a lesson from messi, he got hit pretty hard a few times today that would have warranted the sissy "strategic" behavior, but instead, he took it like a man and got up and kept on truckin. P.S. Even if england's goal was never pulled back, they still lost because they were totally dominated by the lil germies.

And worse than not allowing replays is that referees or FIFA don't even have to explain to anybody, like the stupid referee who disallowed the US goal. That's absolutely ridiculous not knowing why your goal was disallowed. And only 3 officials on such a fast game and large area is absurd as well, especially without replays. The good news is with so many blatant bad calls and the ton of bad press FIFA won't be able to defend that stupid position any longer. Making those incredible mistakes on the first goal, or on the tying goal (like England's) is most likely a game changer. Hard for ALL players to recover mentally after something like that. What a disgrace. Hopefully the following WC will have new rules.

This World Cup is the first time that I've ever really watched soccer, and although I found it fun and enjoyable, it is by far the worst officiating I have ever seen in any sport. How referees can be so bad is beyond me. FIFA's seeming indifference to acknowledge any real problem is disturbing too.

Those were some horrible calls, and some of the refs this world cup are horrible. But I don't think they should bring video replay to soccer, it would throw things off. The reffing is a part of the game, bad or good. Thats what makes it soccer, the ref is a direct part of the game and his calls are part of the game, even if they may not be completely fair. Its just how it and how it has worked for as long as soccer has been here. Refs aren't gods, they make mistakes and its part of soccer. Maybe more officials would make it better

loooooooooooooool this game needs video ref and any suggestion otherwise is moronic.
A game is almost instantly ruined when a team is disadvantaged unfairly & know it. Changes the mindsets. Oh well. Another lame move this fifa was carrying on Yellow cards picked up in the 32matches to the Top16. Portugal has 7 (including ronaldo lol), germany 6, Brazil quite a few (including kaka), Netherlands 6 (robben). The list goes on........ |
