Regarding touch interface, even X3 unfortunately is going through this route, and the idrive wheel doesn't save it. To many functions buried in the system. Dedicated app for so many things. Too many menus and submenus, there are better ways do to it. Two things that I don't also like and are refered in car wow review are classic ones: rear windows don't go full way down, and you can't store the storage/boot cover inside the car. |

1. Horrible heated steering wheel (doesn't get hot at all!)
2. No 1 button to turn off auto start/stop (but you can do 2 or 3 tap shortcuts depending on which OS you're running). 3. Horrible windshield wiper settings - auto is not fast enough or doesn't detect the amount of rain accurately, manual settings are either too slow or too fast (can get really annoying in certain rain settings). 4. Horrible storage in center console, as others have stated, it's virtually useless and completely exposed. Makes storing anything look like a mess and you can't organize anything. Also is a magnet for crumbs and dust. Not a problem if you're a minimalist and barely keep anything in your car. Armrest storage is also so tiny you can barely fit anything in there except for some straws or pens. |

On the ID9 besides the 3 setting directly accessible at the bottom of the screen there are other adjustments within climate control accessible only within the sub menus. Are you sure you set it up properly (at its highest setting) within the main screen sub menu? 2.>> it might be a slight inconvenience but at least we are able to temporarily deactivate the ASS system. I’ve heard other vehicles can’t be tired off at all with hard buttons or in system. |

I don't have heated steering wheel on my X1. However, I've driven at least 3 X1 loaners with heated steering wheels. Two were 2023 and one was 2024. I find them to be way too hot. It wasn't exactly burning hot, just uncomfortably hot, kind of like getting into the car on a hot sunny summer day and the steering wheel was too warm. so I switched it off in less than a minute each time) Outside temps were around 50 and I had the climate control at 68.

I’ve had heated steering wheel in my last 5 vehicles & always turn them off once the wheel heats up & the HVAC has warmed up & puts out enough hot air.
Again, I find enough settings on the x1 with ID9 to make the wheel warm & not very hot. |

I have ID8 version, so maybe they increased heat for ID9 vehicles? Brought it in for service for another reason and mentioned the steering wheel not getting very hot, their response was that there were so many complaints of the steering wheel getting TOO hot for other vehicles that they may have toned down the heating for the U11.
