The pool was closed and the asshole measured from the edge of the pool cover, not the edge of the pool! You had ONE job. I can’t tell you the aggravation that caused with the bank!

Nothing beats the GC doing our reno. We were painting the walls light grey and refinishing red oak flooring. I said "you are doing the floors first then cleaning the walls then painting right"......yep...we agreed.

Then he calls me in australia and says he can do the painting "now" ...i said wait, the floors. "Don't worry, don't worry the dust is not an issue they use this huge vac as they sand it down".

I made it really, really clear i did not think it was a good idea and if the walls had red dust he would be repainting 3200 square fucking feet.

So guess what happened? Fresh painted walls CAKED in red sand, just fucking caked. We nearly came to blows over the repaint, he was furious but DID NOT DENY OUR CONVERSATION THAT A) I said it was the wrong order abd b) said it was a bad idea and it was at his risk.

What a complete fucking dickhead.

This story reminds me of a house I used to have in Germany. It was a circa 1936 build and the owners just kept putting wallpaper and flooring over old stuff. So the hardwood floor had nasty thin carpet over linoleum which was glued to the hardwood. The walls were painted and then papered and repapered. The first room we redid, we (stupidly) decided that since the walls needed to be trashed, replastered (no sheetrock), and painted, we'd leave the floors as they were and not care if they got plaster or paint on them. That worked fine until we had to find a way to get the linoleum backing off the hardwood. When we stripped up the linoleum, the fuzzy backing stuck to the floor. So we got some glue dissolving gel and spread it around and then used scrapers to scrape it up after it dissolved the glue. As you might imagine, every time the scraper hit a nail or otherwise got momentarily stuck, it would fling the nasty gel crap on our newly plastered and painted walls. Lesson learned. The remaining rooms got the floors done first.

That house convinced me I would never be Bob Vila.

Well, their "new" definition allows an item to have been returned ("in the proper condition"), I guess. They (Amazon) are even promoting "try and return" crap on some items! It's apparently not so at some other online stores, at least.

There was a recent news regarding returned items quality control. A sucker (in Europe) had discovered Amazon hadn't actually checked the returned boxes and even set up an enterprise to sell smartphones he stole from Amazon by buying and returning stuffed boxes. They caught him after all.

This just reminds me of a (BMW ) forum story. A drunk neighbour used to annoy a guy in an apartment house by calling him to unlock the entry door. The last time was like this. The neighbour called at night again. The guy rose his butt off his girlfriend, unlocked the entry and met the neighbour with a kick into the face. The neighbour never called again and the neighbour's family started to greet the guy when they met.

Once, I used an online bank to fill my mobile account. To my surprize, instead of discharging my bank account they added the sum withdrawn to it. I didn't explore the opportunity. I KNOW! Again, this was not a net add, we were changing the handles and painting the doors, i am not asking for freebies. I know why he did it, did not want to book painters for multiple sessions, same witht he painting before the floors, wanted it all done at once.

He was recommended by my wife's business partner (law firm) but turns out he was super hands off, let this guy run rampant and paid through the nose.

Kids bathroom is above the garage and the floor heating broke, it is FUCKING FREEZING. So we discuss options, he suggests a shit ton of insulation in the garage ceiling. I am skeptical, he absolutely assures me this is the solution. OK fine, WTF do I know right? This idiot proceeds to tear my fucking garage apart, doesn't cover my shit properly, drywall dust FUCKING EVERYWHERE. He closes it all up, i go in the bathroom..... FUCKING FREEZING. he tries to tell me there's a difference, i am like mate, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU SMOKING???? He finally succumbs to the idea it's a "minimal" difference.

So he agrees to split the cost on installing a booster heater in the garage ceiling, to pup more hot air through the vent. In principle this seems a good idea to me, says it will have a timer etc.

COMPLETELY FAILS to disclose that it runs continuously, no thermostat or ability to run it on and off, it is either running or not ... constantly. TO make matters worse, it sounds like a fucking jet engine. I am like hey, dickhead, you expect me to run this cunt f thing 24/7 for 7 months of the fucking year, are you fucking stupid????

Yet another almost coming to blows over this.

I was so pissed having to drag another box to UPS. third time i ordered direct from FlexiSpot and arrived in two days right color and desk.

I managed my mom's retail rental building for a few years after we sold our business there. The new tenant decided to paint the walls to suit his tastes, which was fine with me. I dropped by to see how the painting project was going, only to see them painting right over all of the wall plates. The idiots were so f'ing lazy, they didn't bother to take a few minutes to remove the plates. It friggin' ruined the plates for any future tenants.

Similar experience. I ordered a dark brown desk from Home Depot. Came in two huge boxes on a pallet. Guy comes and delivers it, I thank him and send him on his way, then go start to open the boxes. First box is one section of the brown desk, second box is the other section IN WHITE. I was like WTF? It was going to be weeks before they could send a truck back out to get it, so I schlepped it to the nearest HD in my SUV. Luckily it barely fit.

My DW had to send a package to a friend a few towns away on Monday, who is in quarantine due to close contact with a person with COVID. She drives right past that small town's post office going to work, so she decided to stop and mail the package so that they could deliver it. Paid $9.50 for them to put the small package into their mail carrier's delivery vehicle and deliver it to the house along with the other mail.

She checked the package tracking info this morning, and it was still sitting at that post office. When she called, the postal clerk said that they were holding it for the recipient to pick up! (Remember, the recipient is in quarantine.) The clerk made all kinds of excuses, like the recipient having a hold packages order in place, a vicious dog, etc. None of it was true. Then, she said that their only package delivery driver died in a traffic accident a few weeks ago. When did mail delivery folks stop delivering 2-pound packages along with the day's mail? Long story short, a postal supervisor made the delivery this afternoon after my DW requested a postage refund for doing nothing but store the package all week with no effort to deliver it.

You had ONE JOB...and got paid $9.50 to deliver a package...in your own town! If she wanted the person to pick it up, they could have met in the post office parking lot, saved the $9.50, and had the package in the recipient's hands on Monday!!!!!

ONE job...paying $15/hour to start! Put a double quarter pounder, hamburger, and three 4-piece McNuggets into a bag and hand it to me. I punched the order in and paid online, so there was no communications problem or misunderstanding on my part.

When I got to the first stop on my senior citizen lunch delivery tour this afternoon, I reached into the bag to discover that there were no 4-piece McNuggets. Instead, there was a 10-piece...with only nine nuggets in the box! Thankfully, the first stop was fine with taking the medium fries (that I didn't order) instead of four nuggets. The second stop was expecting two 4-pieces, and was more than happy splitting the nine piece 10-piece.

The double quarter pounder was supposed to be my lunch. Toss the bun (evil carbs) across the street in the woods, so that OCD psycho dog can watch out the front window all afternoon to bark at any birds that showed up for the free food. What I got was a triple cheeseburger. I didn't even know that they made triple cheeseburgers. I was already late in getting back online for work, so I made do and ate it.

The only person who was happy? OCD psycho dog! His custom-ordered hamburger was in the bag and prepared properly. Thank the heavens for that one small favor, because he wouldn't let me back into the house if I didn't bring him a hamburger with no onions or ketchup!

Back when I was in college, the local McDonalds there used to close at midnight. I worked overnights across the street, and had friends go over there at 11:50 PM for the "midnight special" offerings. Basically, you would go in and order a custom cheeseburger at 11:50 PM, and the manager would clean out the entire bin of remaining food and dump it into a bag FOR FREE instead of making a custom order a few minutes before closing. Today's bag felt like the 1980's all over again.....

My contractor and close friend came and pointed out all the off-center half-assed shit the builders did on the original construction of the house we're living in.
A glass panel on the deck wasn't aligned with the slot & lazily screwed into place. Crooked paint lines, and an outline of someone who stood up into a ceiling not dried yet.
We spent all summer fixing up this place needless to say.
