Are you a part of the S. FL Xede gang getting the Xede installed by Shiv on either 12/17 or 12/18? btw - I'm in Ft. Myers quite a bit as I have 3 accts. in Ft. Myers, and several more in from Naples north to Bradenton.

Despite it not being below 70 degrees F here, I bet you're glad to be back. We're happy you're safe!

Well if I was in florida, then I definitely would be BUT, I'm stationed in Germany, so here I am. Cold. BUT....also with the Autobahn I should be back in florida for 3 months of school in March.

Sounds like you're doing pretty damn well for yourself, huh

What if I buy the Xede Stage Subzero (v360) with 93/4 & 100 octane maps. What steps would I have to take to update my maps, once I upgrade down the road to Shiv's high flow exhaust (w/cat delete)? Also, can I use the 93/4 octane map with the Washington state 92 octane rated gas?

You probably could but you'd experience some knock which the computer would then try to eliminate by retarding the timing.

I see you have 18% tint. Have you gotten any tickets yet? In WA the legal limit is 35% Film. I haven't tinted mine yet.

How much extra are you guys paying above and beyond the $1300 to do this?? I think Shiv mentioned maybe an extra 3hp from the "custom" tune as opposed to just going with the base tune??

The tuning is free for now b/c shiv is doing testing on the install and building up a database of maps for future release.

Its a win/win.

Ahh ok, sounds good. I've been trying to get ahold of Shiv through PM & email to see if he is planning to come to AZ but I haven't heard back. I got impatient and just ordered it! Can't wait for the 100 Octane map.

Sorry about that. I've been back and forth between cities the last week. Haven't had time to catch up on all pms yet. You should be fine with the 91oct baseline map since you get the same 91oct fuel in Utah as we do in CA, right? If not, we'll have 93oct maps, for both Step and 6MT, on Sunday courtesy of the boys in Texas

No problem, I know you're swamped! I'm actually in Arizona, but yes, the same 91 Crap-tane. Right down the street I have access to 100 at the pump.

Two questions:
Any idea when you'll have the 100 Octane maps ready?
And any idea what date the Xede's will start shipping out? I have no idea what order my order was placed (or how many are ahead of me) so that might be tough to say.

Anyway, keep up the good work and let me know if you plan to head to AZ!!

Supposedly in the next week or so. Aslong as they have enough to fullfill ALL of the pre-orders.

Allright, I'm confused! I spent an hour and read everything in the sticky section for "Tuning a 335i. "

I then went to the ordering page and looked at the options to specify when ordering. Can someone answer the following questions for me, is this the correct sequence of events?

1. On Vishnu's website You specify whether you have an E90 or E92 (probably doesn't make a difference)

2. Specify what modifications you're running, and the octane you will primarily use in your car?

3. You will then receive the new hardware and wireing harness (not sure what it looks like) flashed to your desired specifications? Plug it in and go ?

1) I dont think he has done any 335i sedan tuning yet. So i doubt it will be advisable for you to use a product that has been tested on an e92, even though they engines are proabably 99% similar.

2) yes.

3)yes.

OK, I do have one more questions though. I'm quite familiar with Hondata and the incredible work they have done with the K-series motors. They offer two different engine Mgmt options. 1. A flash based program http://hondata.com/reflash.html (you send them them your ECU, they flash it to the program you pick and send it back you)
and 2. K-Pro,http://hondata.com/kpro.html which gives you the software and the ability to have full control over engine Mgmt yourself. I'm assumming the XEDE is more of the flashed based option, just not on the actual ECU itself, more of a piggyback ( so to speak ).

Can I ask Shiv what made you go this way ? (I'm assuming the ability to have total removal of the program if need be?) Just curious, any pros and cons of both systems in your opinion?

The tuning is free but don't you have to pay for his flight and the Dyno time? I think that was what he is asking, how much more than 1300 total?
