And philbert, it is pretty clear after your numerous posts on this thread that you came in here for a reason.
Another 335 v M3 thread.
Nope. Do you simply have nothing intelligent or mature to say? I said if your **interested** then watch if not then no need to get on your toes. I just stated that I too would get the ///M if i had the money- but this video inevitably raises questions that should be asked/considered. Don't even know why I replied to this. I'm in no way here to bash the m3, I owned an e46 before the 335i. You must give credit where credit is due.

I wonder how many folks with a modded 335i would not swap for an M3 if given the opportunity to do so for no $$$? Few I think.

So it boils down to whether or not you can justify the M3. If you cannot, then, sure, modding the 335i might help you forget about that. But it will never truly remove the desire for the M3, IMHO.

And I say this knowing that I may still end up with a 135i or 335i.

We all admit the 335i is a great car. If you want to mod it and make just as fast as an M3 then go for it.

But, I am not going to be envious when I am sitting in my M3 and you blow my doors off. That is not why I am buying the M3 over the 335i.

Jason
I can see it now. People buying the 335i adding the proceed and M3 body parts to make it look like an M3. Unfortunately this will prob happen.

Yeah this is an old argument but I have to be honest.

I will take anything over the Steering, Brakes, and M purity discussions that are eating this forum alive.

I don't know what the US MSRP will be.
50,000 is alot of M3's.

You do make a good point though.
A modded 335/335x will whoop some arse but so will a modded shifter cart.
My belief when comparing is:
STOCK vs. STOCK
MODDED vs. MODDED

For those of you that couldnt see the video in the 40 mph roll-on you could see the M5s tail lights- as it starts to pull on the 335i.
On the 20mph roll on you could see the M5s headlights as the 335i starts to pull in the lower range.

Come to think of it most M3 owners have their pockets full and theres usually room for modding.

if you come to think about it, we're almost building an M3. an intercooler, a LSD, a chip, downpipes, coilovers, that's like $10k. the car will still not be an ///M car, although it might beat in in a straight line, or on track (might being a keyword.. like maybe).

My planned mods will probably take me to beat a modded M5 or M6, but i would totally trade it for an M3. just different!
