I think we'll rent for a while and buy later; if in fact I get the offer and we go. Right now pretty much ANYTHING will suffice to get us out of The People's Republik!!

It sounds like you really need to be out of California. With regard to the People' Republik part and the Governor, I don't get how other people make felons. Please don't share your story. That's really personal stuff. Just remember that Washington State probably has laws too.

I hope you sort it all out and find the place of your dreams and a government that suits you. Good luck!

Something about bullet-buttons and magazines in excess of 10 rounds....

I think we'll be upping our limit to 750ish... TOPS!

Well, if you need more than 10 rounds in your magazine starting next year, moving from California is a good idea. There are 42 states from which to choose that do not have such restrictions. Luckily Washington is one of them.

You are going to leave the best place to be in US in regards to weather (yes I have been in San Diego before in winter and summer) to go to one of the worst places in US again with regards to weather. Just for your information summer starts in Seattle in July and ends in September, rest of the year is winter!

I say think twice before moving to rain/cloudy city. I moved here recently but I am counting the days for when I go back to east coast!

It's not that I need them, I may or may not already have them. Have for well over 20 years!!

Limiting magazine size + no/limited water + no/limited electricity + a governor who has a funny nickname; all reasons enough to get out.

As a native Californian, I love it here. Clearly you don't. You should go and do what makes you happy. If your end game is Texas, you may think about finding something there now before they secede.

I lived in Seattle for 18 years. It took me a few years to get used to the gloomy weather and constant rain. Once I adjusted however it was a great place to live and I considered it a mecca for outdoor activities, just don't let the rain stop you. I think North Seattle has better neighborhoods but yes the traffic is atrocious. The area is also known for the most amazing mountain drives so you'll love that. Good luck...

even living in SF bay area, I have to agree that Seattle gives a better variety of outdoor activities.

Bay area pricing is too insane to even discuss. But all that insanity is moving to Seattle. It's the number 1 settlement of Bay area tech jobs...as I recall they're moving to:

1. Seattle
2. Portland
3. Austin

Absolutely love airplanes and airports. Air traffic controllers are awesome!

People always talk about Peoples Republic, but in two years when CA bans guns, CA will definitely jump to the safest place to live in the world!
