What else is the S55 used in? It's a pretty big departure from the N54/N55. Closed deck block, water intercooler, front-facing twin turbos, etc.

No...that's not why they did that at all. I doubt they're saving any money at all since aside from displacement, the S65 has nothing in common with the N55. They did it due to gas mileage regulations. Same reason everyone else is downsizing and moving towards turbocharged engines.

Quick car! I was good on the low 11s but I would have expected a little higher trap speed with 707hp.

There's already a bunch of videos around of camo'd Mustang test mules running around - taken after the base car's release. Quad exhaust, hood bulge, lots of noise, etc. Something is in the works for sure.
The magazines are thinking the current GT500 engine with more power, carbon ceramic brakes, etc. I'd assume carbon fiber driveshaft, carbon fiber bits, etc. Last edited by CirrusSR22; 07-11-2014 at 11:44 PM.. |

Agreed... Closer to ~660bhp I'd say, or it was very hot, w/ high engine temps. Car should trap ~130ish w/ 707bhp.

The prototype cars are just that, design and testing mules. Nothing stating they are going to release a car this generation becasue of a mule. I would wait until the next auto show for a showing of a prototype before believing its going to be produced. I would argue they would release a revised Boss over a new Shelby/GTXXX car. The news of the GT350 being released in place of the GT500 is more accurate, but, as I stated, it wont be in the initial offering of this generation and likely will be a mid model release to refresh sales, after Ford sees where its at with the new 4 cyl offering. |

Here I'll help you out: This isn't even official, just random fan hype and hoping, and even then, they say the car won't surpass the GT500, but be a replacement for the Boss, an at the end of the 2015 calendar year lol..

Now you say it won't be in the "initial offering" and not early-on. Since we already know what options are available for the 2015, of course it's not in the initial offering. |

I made a statement, and then conceded, and opined, that (IF) even there were a release for this upcoming model it wouldn't be until late in the generations life release time line. I didn't contradict, but added to my statement.

Just to be clear, 99% of the "drivel" posted herein, is opinionated, and biased. To what I post included. If you cant deal with that, I suggest you retire from the internet, it will hurt your feelings...
