Even certain variants of the lower MSRP models (e.g. GT3, certain Carrera GTS models, etc.) quickly get into that price range after selecting a few options. I'm a big Porsche fan and own one myself, but once you get into that price range, I'd generally pick the McLaren over the Porsche. (Not counting the 918 spyder, which is in a whole other price range). Porsche is apparently building a 650s/458 italia type competitor. Hopefully, they distinguish it substantially from the 911 models. |

MP4-12C resale value just took a huge hit today, (value) problem with McLaren is they just come out with too many cars too quickly

I think I'd still rather have a used 12C for $170K than a new 570S for $180K, but the 570S looks better.

I'm curious to know why. I might have to make a similar decision in the coming months so I'd love to hear more about why you'd choose a used 12C over a new 570S despite it looking better.

The 12C and 650S both sit higher in the McLaren lineup (Super Series vs. Sport Series) over the 570S, and both will outperform it. It's still underpowered compared to the Huracan and right on par with a 458. The jury is still out on performance numbers which we'll find out once it's released, but the 12C is such a good deal right now for a 600+hp supercar for right around $170-180K.

Outside of the P1 I am not a fan of the McLaren's myself. There is a dealership close by me and I do see a few of these around. Though eye catching they are just not for me.

Yeah the P1 is wicked. I work up the street from the service center so I see McLarens every day but when you see a P1... it looks like an alien landing module. Positively wicked!
Snapped this one last fall (cell phone pic):

IDK there's something wrong with it...probably because I feel it's like a super weak sauce version of the P1. I could just be because I was exposed to the P1 first and I was just numbed from whatever "awesomeness" this car has to offer in the looks department.
I feel the same way after seeing a CLK 63 AMG BS, all other CLKs just seem lame after seeing the BS. This is despite my opinion that the CLK is one of the best looking "pedestrian" cars ever made. |

Oh man, that would be fantastic. Hopefully would be like something between a 918 and Cayman, mid-engine, TT flat 6 (GT2 powerplant) with lots of carbon and low weight.
