As a fellow 1M owner, I can assure you the decision has nothing to do with the 1M being a 'real' M car or what not.

The forum for the car simply does not have the traffic volume to support a stand-alone forum, and as we know, given the limited #s, we can't expect activity to increase any time soon/ever

For that reason, we will not be making a separate site for the 1M. I will look into possibly a different header graphic in that section, but I have to think of a technical solution to make that happen, so it will take some time..

aw man....that's really unfortunate! I think the 1M deserved one from the beginning!

The 1M isn't about traffic.....as it's limited----BUT the forum is a great site of reference and is totally lost within the 1-series forum. It's hard to find for new members is weird in that it has subsections which are misused far too often by 1-series owners.

If you can at least make it a part of the main menu on the forums it would make for MUCH easier access.....especially on mobile.

Plenty of us would love this!! Please reconsider, Mark!

Thank you!

The decision is actually made to make the 1M forum a better more active one. Gotta trust us on this one

ALthough you make an excellent point about the mobile access and it being lost on the app. Will change that to make 1M a more obvious option from the main forums menu

Ouch! Hey, it's not the M235i's fault that you don't have a separate forum! Leave us out of this!

Hey, sorry, no insult intended, I know the 235 to be a great car...it's just my feeling that BMW is blasting the M symbol around too much... Doesn't the M235 have something like 16 ///M badges?

I've always considered ///M to be the pinnacle of obtainable automotive sport and performance, now the marketing guys and bean counters are hyper-diluting the M brand and the average Joe on the street will see ///M so often it'll loose its prestige and exclusivity.

Peace be with you as you drive your beast on the streets, repping the ///M legacy 😊

The pot calling the kettle Black. Neither the 1M nor the M2 have an "S" motor.

So they are in the same boat as the M235, as far as not being a real M.

They really should have called it a 2M. If they wanted to call it an ///M2, then it should have had an "S" motor and a Carbon Fibre roof.

Unfortunate that you will not separate the forum section. It's not hard to do, I'm an admin on a couple other forums and know what's involved, just have to be bothered to do it is all the way I see it we don't need 'more traffic' in the 1m forum by way of lost 135i owners. 1m owners will find it more easily if it's got its own section like the m3 etc. It's a pretty obvious forum structure oversight and shoild have always been separate imo.

lol...NOPE. nowhere near the same boat as an M235. the 1M and M2 both have full M architecture, M-diff, M brakes, M steering racks, etc etc etc....Hey are full on M cars, unlike the M235 which had NONE of that. It's amazing to me that a car as coveted as the 1M still gets generalized comments from people who just don't understand what makes an M car. Get over it....and stop trolling.

There is a reason why the F8X and M2 are all using the recipe from the 1M and are totally inspired by the 1M; as far as 'modern' M cars the 1M is the daddy...

FYI: I've just noticed that the 1M forum has 154XXX total posts....significantly more than MANY other cars which have less activity but do have their own forum.
