Disagree. Every great team still needs role players. This isn't about choosing the best player in each position; it's about building the best TEAM. And every modern championship team needs a 3-pt gunner. Otherwise, opposing defenses would just collapse into the paint. Hence, Curry fits the bill perfectly. His range and efficiency is unparalleled in history.

Also, Kerr and Reggie Miller did just fine in the '90s era defenses as 3-pt specialists. I'd wager that Curry is a better shooter than either of them, particularly if the rest of the defense had to guard the other four players of my team (and likely double team Jordan, leaving Curry open looks all night long).

Furthermore, Curry has good handles, good court vision, decent APG and even a decent RPG for a PG. Sure he's not great defensively, but he's also not a defensive liability. If he has good defensive teammates (like the 4 other guys I chose), he can switch off as necessary to minimize his deficiency.

Lebron kind of sucks at leadership and failed a lot in the Finals. Not sure why you'd want anyone but Jordan if you had a choice. His 2 championships are with the super team, Miami and he still failed with them twice.

Lebron has never made it to the Finals in a tough conference. Every year he's been in the Finals, he's gone through a swiss cheese eastern conference with virtually 1 good team.

If over the last few years, Lebron had to play the Thunder, Warriors, Clippers, Spurs, Mavs, Memphis, Blazers, Lakers, etc...he'd probably have 0 rings.

Yeah coming off the bench agreed , I would take curry over Kerr or Miller , butbi would not , given a chance to choose ANYONE, put him anywhere near starting 5.

You guys are forgetting he was essentially THE offense for Cleveland and had the ball in his hands every game. It wasn't winning basketball and he padded his stats by just dominating the ball.

Not everyone could put up those numbers dominating the ball like that, but it's not like he's doing that in the Spurs' offense.

I wouldnt take Kobe because of the team chemistry issues that always seemed to find him. LeBron is also an option just because of his physical dominance, but he hasnt proved that he can do anything close to what Jordan could.

As for Curry, I think hed do just fine in any era shooting 3s the way he does and with the way he can handle the ball. Hed just keep moving back down the court. Eventually youd see him hitting midcourt 3s like he does now with those deep 40ft 3s. He has one of the quickest shots ive ever seen as well, so even if its a tiny window, he can make it. And its not like he is getting fouled much with the stricter rules of todays game. Hes not even top 20 in Free Throws Attempted per Game.

Jordan and the stars of that era received a beating night in/out - unlike the stars of today where the rules protect the players more.

Either way - you judge the players for their era. I (and many here) had the pleasure of watching a truly fantastic collection of top 50 callibre NBA talent from middle 80's until middle and late 90's

knee injuries are more often freak incidents like this one where he slipped. I blew a knee out going down the stairs...

And im 100% sure he would be playing now if this was a series they needed him for. Since it isnt, better to let him rest up for the Spurs and potentially the Finals than risk aggravating it and he being hobbled the rest of the playoffs.

People seem to forget that Jordan broke his foot during his 2nd season and missed 64 games. Not because of a hard foul, but a freak accident where he landed awkwardly (in a game against, ironically, Golden State). But I don't hear anyone saying that Jordan was soft.

One injury in arguably the greatest career in the the history of the NBA vs Steph's fragile frame 4 years into his career...I don't think anyone is calling Curry soft, but he is frail compared to Jordan.

Also - Jordan dropped 30+ in a game with 102 temp and had to be carried off the court...

I would never want Kobe or Iversen on my team. Complete shot hogs..... If you want some one to take a lot of shots, go for George Gervin. For a modern player, go for Ginobili..... Because it's just fun to say his name real fast
