Ugh, my car is supposed to arrive at the dealer today, and pick up is scheduled for Friday.
How soon do we find out if our car is affected? I guess it's encouraging to know it's only a select few, and not all cars produced between those dates.

Just called BMW Customer Relations, sounds like there's a very good possibility of my M2 (June Build) being affected. The representative said that the car would be fixed at the Processing center in Galveston, TX before being shipped to the dealer, and said it would cause a small delay.
Unfortunately they don't know whether the car is affected or not until it arrives at the port, they don't have a list of VINs affected. |

I am wondering if this has anything to do with the "production delay" mentioned in another thread where the factory is working out a kink. Perhaps 202 vehicles slipped through before the issue was detected?
On the brighter side, it's 202 vehicles -- that's got to be a small number compared to total daily output for BMW factories. The odds on it being yours is smaller than you think. Either way, good luck to all. |

My M3 is scheduled for delivery tomorrow, July 20! I was told today of the stop and I don't know exactly what is going to happen other than not being able to drive my car out of the Welt.
I have not been able, nor was my CA able to confirm if the Delivery/Presentation of the vehicle will even take place. My gf is flying in tonight from Atlanta, I and my brother are flying in tomorrow morning from Dublin after just having completed a four day golf trip and my sister in law flew in from NYC yesterday and is waiting on us. My car is an Individual paint which I have never seen in person. The car has been sitting at the Welt for 5 to 6 weeks. If I don't at least get to see my car tomorrow I don't know what I will do. I am so upset and disappointed that I don't know how to react so I am not going to until I see what actually transpires in about 14 hours. Will keep you all posted. |

My car is at the port waiting on a ship. I'm guessing it's affected as it was a mid June build, though I'm not going to call right away and check. It's already a long wait, so I guess it's going to be a bit longer.

Ugh...this probably means I'll have to take it easy again for another 1,200 miles to break in the new diff. Already did that on my ED. Hope my car is not one of them.

Just great!
Just learned that I'm affected. I am leaving to Munich in 2days planning to pickup my first M3 this Friday. I cannot begin to describe how I am feeling at the moment. My flights and hotels are all booked, all of which are non-refundable at this point. How could BMW do this just 2days into my delivery?! I'm so pissed! |
