There is a 4000cc n63 for China and some other markets where there are massive tax differences for engines below 4000cc. Realoem mentions it when you go to the F10 or F06 for example. It does state bore or stroke though on there, even if you look up the piston itself. Perhaps if someone on here can read Chinese they might be able to pull that info from BMW China

BMWs Carbon technology is far more advanced than McLaren's. And I mean light years ahead.

It's all in the exhaust tuning
Not true, you can tune the sound of the engine with exhaust, not change it. BMW's exhaust manifold arrangement is what is responsible for the current N63/S63 soundtrack, you can only tune the sound from there, not change it to sound like any other V8

I think this will be a good thing. BMW has supplied engines for Jag/LR in the past (early 2000's) before Tata bought Jag/LR. Hell the early Fourth gen Range Rover's, the L322 body trucks were essentially E53 X5's with Range Rover body kits.... BMW supplied M62 V8's and M57 Diesel 6's to Land Rover for those vehicles.

Jaguar and Land Rover engines have reliability issues, compounded by supply chain issues. Many of these engines Jag/LR will only sell you a complete short block.

Need a rod or main bearing set? Tough! Buy a complete block and rotating assembly, or a complete long engine. Don't like it? Jag/LR doesn't care!

Now at least maintenance and repair parts will be readily available.

It used to be correct, but not nowadays.
Turbo's have really outpaced the outdated Supercharger.
Just look at the award winning engines...

It's different but definetly not superior. Depends on what you want though. Superchargers have parasitic loss that a turbo does not. Happy trolling bro!
Not trolling bro. I am not saying that superchargers are superior in everything, they aren't. But as far as the criteria I mentioned, throttle response and exhaust sound, that is true.

Every turbo engine no matter how good suffers from some degree of turbo lag. Superchargers have no lag. The turbo robs the exhaust of sound energy. Supercharged cars sound as good as NA cars.

You mean like the Audi V6 supercharged engine which won Ward's top 10 for like 3 years in a row? I know it is getting replaced by a turbo for 2016, but Audi concedes the move is driven by fuel economy which turbos offer in spades compared to superchargers.

In any case, don't write off the supercharger just yet. The electric supercharger will likely make a big splash and be paired with a classic turbo

That new state of the art engine development centre JLR built near Telford for millions isn't coming up with the goods then?
