They're helping the dealers not have to sell left over 2017's side by side with 2018's which will have similar prices but will be refreshed and likely have some features that the 17's didn't with better leases to boot. |

You can extend your lease. Call the Maturity center and tell them you have a vehicle on order and you're going to extend however many months. You keep making your contracted payments and then turn it in when you're ready for the next vehicle.

Too much inventory?? Good way of forcing an individual to purchase off the lot. Lots of competition & possibly business not as brisk as one might be led to believe. Just adding another wrinkle to the story.

Let me get this straight, BMW is going to do a 2nd LCI on the F80 (which was already selling well)?
Some of the mags are indicated there could be mechanical or power updates. Any yay or nay on that? |

That is the case here as well. In this case, however, it's a more visible part of the update. And furthermore, it's a special case because the M3 happens to share its front end with the M4, including the headlights. By contrast the 3 Series front end is distinct from the 4 Series. This is also why the M3 was able to be offered with LED headlights from the time it started production in 2014 whereas the 3 Series did not yet offer them. It is also why the M3 did not get the 3 Series LCI headlights. Quote:
A new M4 CS is expected soon, though it is not established yet that it will debut in tandem with the LCI. However, regardless of when it debuts, insiders have said it will not feature more power than the M4 ZCP, despite the GTS hood which has widely been speculated to be covering a water injected S55. |

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1287429 The reason why past M3s have not received LCI headlights is because they were not drop in replacements - their shape changed from pre-LCI parts. This was the case for both two-door and four-door models. BMW has never seen it fit to create new front end bodywork for the M3 to accommodate them. With the F3x, however, this trend has ended. The 3 Series LCI headlights are physically compatible with pre-LCI models and the same is true for the upcoming 4 Series LCI headlights and pre-LCI 4 Series models. Both the M3 and M4 will be beneficiaries of this fact. This is due to what I said in my post above - they share front ends with one another, which in turn are based around the 4 Series headlight. Incidentally, although they are very similar in appearance, the 3 Series and 4 Series headlight are not physically compatible. |

For the first time in my life, I don't see the need to wait/upgrade for a new LCI, or new features, my 2016 is so beautiful, and full of surprises and gadgets, that I still in my honey moon with it even after an entire year of ownership.

Currently, our crystal ball (thanks to forum member ynguldyn) says it will be in production until February 2021 - over four years from now. http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=901686 |

No. It will launch as a 2019 model as noted in the link I just included in my post above. Specifically, it will launch after the the F30 ends production for good in October 2018 (a fact that is also specified in the post at said link).

So for those of us waiting for the MY2018 models - I can order it in the month of March? Is there anything I can do now to get the ball rolling?
As you can see, the wait is keeping me in agony. |
