I don't know you, but if you "already knew" everything I said, you probably are at least top 10%. Most people know nothing about finance, stocks, valuations, etc. Even hedge funds think they can beat the market and are wrong year after year.

Why the blimp? Why not just run this service out of the existing warehouses and save the cost of setting up the airborne center and the hassle of regulating bodies? Am I missing something?

You can be as optimistic as much as you can about this potentially be a game changer... but the concern isn't about just the drone tech itself. Its about logistics, safety, aerospace regulation, weather condition or other acts of God, and other unforeseen liabilities. If you can imagine drones getting hacked. Gonna be a lot of missing packages... customer address and info potentially stolen... not to mention drones themselves getting stolen by Terrorist ---> literally dropping you Homemade Bombs instead of that EchoDot you thought you ordered from Amazon. Oh Man... imagine the possibilities.

The limits to how far/fast we can push the tech limits are devolving at an exponential clip. The patent is likely meaningless as you (and others) note, but the concept will eventually become reality. |

I am going to get a patent on a 3d molecular printer.
Then, nothing will ever need to be delivered because my company will allow you to print anything you ever needed from the comfort of your own home, |

But seriously... Whether it gets implemented this summer or sometime soon, it is a very doable process and I commend them for what they have brought to the retail market as a whole. |

Already do this in CA and FL for sure, probably other states also. A lot of stuff is sold by other sellers and fulfilled by Amazon though and that stuff typically doesn't have tax unless that seller happens to be in your state.

It's nice novel idea but there isnt a drone in the world that could operate at 45K ft much less drop out of a blimp with an 8lb bag of dog food. lol
I imagine if possible this drone would have to be absolutely massive and need a run time of at least 45minutes and at that point it would basically be a helicopter. Then the operational cost of operating such a project would be absurd. Having a 20K drone drop off your super bowl t-shirt doesnt have much ROI I think driver-less automated car delivery is much more feasible in their future rather than a Phantom 4 dropping off a t-shirt. |

Friend that works in Amazon hq says it's feasible with smaller items that fit in the specific drone boxes. Ideal locations are more condensed cities in the UK for testing. Think about needing condoms right away and bang it falls from the sky... or lube... Or a sammich for post play.
