You're not touching a 997.2 GT3 for under 100K, whoever recommended that.
My list- 1) 997.1 GT3 (this is barely in the range these days) 2) 991.1 GTS 3) 997.2 GTS 4) Might catch flak for this one, but 981 Boxster Spyder |

4 all day. But OP doesn't like convertibles. So GT4, more engaging that a C2S and likely better long term resale than a GTS.

Possible........ depending on the spec. GT4's are still bringing sticker and in some cases slightly above.........Phil

1998 C4s all the car you will ever need covers all the basis. You want to track the car Cayman GT4. Want a more visceral application get a 996 GT3.
I personally love the 914-6 but most likely not your best choice for your first P car.

I am guessing you never drove a 914-6, absolutely a blast and easily considered one of the least expensive Porsche collector cars. the 991 is quite a compliant/competent sports car but never the less run of the mill to me. If he were looking for another commuter car I would agree with the 991/997 as an option but I think he is looking for something special, if his budget were a bit higher I would recommend nothing other than the RSA which I also owned and tracked, best experience I have ever had. To each his own.

Do they? At the track and to many enthusiasts (or at least me), a GT4 has a lot more presence than a non GT 911.

lol, don't need a convertible to get a tan. I already have pigmentation.
Like I said I have never driven a Pcar before. But you are correct I'm looking for something special. Ok so those are good recommendations and will get popcorn n soda ready to watch a few YouTube reviews. Hmmmm..., would it make much of a diff if I bump my budget to $125K? Only if there's significant change in performance capacity/capabilities. |

Shit! Well, IMO if you can afford $100K cash payment on a car that isn't cheap to own, you can probably afford an extra $20K or $50K unless the OP is paying in cash cuz he has real bad credit.

Well I was willing to dish out another $25k assuming there's significant performance changes.
Personally I don't like to finance and no, not cuz I have bad credit. In fact, my credit score is in the high 800s. I just don't like the idea the bankers is making money off the interst. I'd rather use that money to upgrade the car. I'm sure you know that dealerships don't make off the car sales price much over the sales of parts, service and finance |

The fact that bankers are making money off it is totally irrelevant, if it helps you. Your $100K means absolutely nothing to the banking industry but it probably means something to you. And every dollar you spend in life goes to some person who makes money. Who cares if it's bankers, a car dealer, the tire company, an insurance agent, the corrupt manager of the local grocery store, or whoever? In the end you gotta do what makes the best sense for your financial situation--that's business and money is the essence of it. Not financing because you have an emotional reaction against banks is not business, it's personal (and really doesn't even make sense personally) and that's a bad way to handle money. |

No such thing as credit scores in the high 800's. The absolute perfect credit rating is 850.
