I see what you’re saying. I do pay about $65 a month in insurance for both cars. I also pay $110 for each car for tags for two years. Both cars are under warranty, so not really paying for any maintenance except gas, oil changes and maybe tires eventually. If you’re not responsible for insurance, I’m pretty sure after a few wrecks, that will change. Enjoy that while you can.

I think we can all agree we can all get a lease/finance deal much lower than $2k/$3k per month to drive these cars.
The value Porsche is proposing here, is the ability to jump into different cars anytime you want. This allows you to take a road trip in a Cayenne, go to a track with the 911, or go cruising on backroads in a 718... all in 1 month! although, not sure how insurance would work It's basically Porsche's first step into MaaS (Mobility as a Service) Last edited by hi_officer; 10-12-2017 at 10:54 AM.. |

I'd assume it's just fleet insurance. When I worked for Lufthansa, we had a car pool and could just take any car we wanted and we were covered for insurance.

Everyone needs to rethink what they are offering.
1) You get to drive 8 different vehicle in a month (for $2k a month) or 22 different vehicles (for $3k a month). 2) Unlimited mileage, unlimited flips (swapping of vehicles in a month), they'll deliver the vehicle to you, free maintenance, roadside assistance, license fee's and insurance. 3) You're not limited to 1 vehicle and you're not leasing or owning a single vehicle. You can drive a different vehicle each day. Yes, you can lease or finance a single vehicle a lot cheaper but remember....that is YOUR vehicle, covered by YOUR insurance and maintenance YOUR paying for, etc. I think it is a good deal if you use it to it's full potential. If you spend $2k for a month, you can drive 8 different Porsche models in a given month and go swap between those 8 different models as much as you want with only worrying about filling up the gas. Same can be said for the $3k deal for the 22 different models. How about everyone add up all that Porsche is offering in the $2k a month plan for the 8 models? Lease or finance payment cost, insurance and license fee's then do the same for the $3k a month plan for the 22 models. IMO, it would a 1 time only time for me if I were to do it. I wonder if they would allow this to happen outside the Atlanta area. Come to Atlanta to pickup the vehicle, then drive back home. Which is way outside the Atlanta Metro. |

I'm sure you could live outside ATL, but they're not going to bring cars to you there, you'd probably have to get them yourself which negates a lot of the convenience of this deal.

USAA. I’ve been with them for 21 years. I actually pay ~$590 every six months for full coverage for three vehicles. I have a Ram Promaster 1500 Diesel on top of the other two cars. I pay $730ish a year through progressive for my two Ducatis.

But others, like COTA and TWS (RIP) most certainly do not. A friend of a friend has totaled three cars at MSR and received payout on each. I do think they told him the last one was the final one they'd cover at that location. |

It is my understanding you can "make" a claim anywhere, but depending on the language in your insurance policy will decide if you are covered or not. I have never seen a policy explicitly state that it covers any type of racing/stunt driving/demolition/tracking/speed etc... here is the verbiage from my policy with Farmers... Quote:

MSR only allows passing in three or four places on each of the two circuits; I'm sure that's part of the reason it can do that ... but the biggest reason is that it's privately owned and operated somewhat similarly to a country club: Memberships primarily fund it, and guests can only use it if invited by a member or if the guest attends as part of an event held at MSR.

I've taken my car a few times to Harris Hill Road, it's private and has only one place you're supposed to pass. Still, I was told if you get in a wreck to tow it to a street and then call your insurance.

but you have to keep it for the full 60 months to make it work. I can't keep a car longer than 1-2 years, at most.
