Yep - Was a funny show - MXPX from your hometown and Atari's from mine (Orlando).

Yeah - stores load before a deployment in the North Pacific. Was only there a couple of days.

If you enjoy punk covers, check out Me First and the Gimmie Gimmie's. All they play is punk covers. Is a hodge podge of band members from NOFX, NUFAN, Lagwagon, and Swingin' Utters. Great band and great songs.

Oh yeah, I definitely have some Me First in that play list. Aint No Sunshine, Crazy, I believe I can Fly. Good stuff. Also like MxPx's covers of Take Me On, and Summer of '69.

One of my favorite covers is The Interrupters covering California Sun. Unfortunately I cant find it recorded; just a youtube video, which is OK by me 'cause I've got a little thing for Aimee Allen.

Funny that Bremerton is a new commuter suburb for Seattle. Was a complete sh*thole of a little town for years. Now there's a high speed commuter ferry straight to downtown Seattle. Would take less time to get to Bremerton from my downtown office than it does for me to drive 5 miles to my house in North Seattle some days.

That's nuts!

Interrupters - hmm, funny thing is I love the song Take Back the Power, but I've had a hard time getting into any of their other stuff.

I grew up with nardcore.

The first time, where I got hooked, was a junior high school dance (1978?). Couple of girls I knew showed up wearing wingtips, and proceeded to DESTROY the pit that formed. Both were (and still are) about 5' tall. Just to be able to grind against them I sacrificed my shins.

Sometimes Bear still haunts my dreams at night

Take Back the Power was what lured me in. Definitely one of their best. They are fun live and their new album is pretty good. it's a nice break from other music when I'm in the mood for upbeat and catchy.

I think what I like is more like "post punk" - Gang of Four , still my favorite.

When we went to see Romeo Void at City Gardens, I had no idea that their lead singer was the 180 degrees opposite of a young Debbie Harry, she was kind of very squat and VERY sweaty. Debora Iyall sounded hot . While she was singing White Sweater (it's etched in my memory) , she flipped her head and I watched a glistening bead of sweat jump off of her face and fly through the air shimmering in the lights and coming right at me. I tried to duck but it hit me square in the cheek.

The next day I had a zit there that was the size of Montana! No shit, MONTANA! I had to have 2 friends help me squeeze it, it was so damn big. Even now, I still have what looks like a very small beauty mark where it hit me. I was kind of pissed for years that I got scarred from her, but after seeing the VH1 story of Romeo Void and how badly they were treated because of the way she looked, I am kind of honored to carry her "mark" on me.

It comes back every year on the anniversary of the night she gave it to me. (not really, but I wouldn't be surprised )

I've probably got some pictures stashed away somewhere from the show. I'd have to look, since this was before cell phone cameras.

Found them. Enjoy.

Yessir. They are on my play list regularly. Saw them live a couple of times and also saw Mike Ness as a solo act play as well.

Good shows. He is awesome live.

100%! One of my all-time favorites. I left them off the list as most of their stuff is less punk and more rock with some blues and even country themes. But this isn't a "My punk is the real punk" thread so any band as epic as Social D is very welcome to be appreciated and discussed here!

I had the pleasure of seeing them live for the first time about 1.5 years ago. Somehow my path and their tour schedule never seemed to meet up. So glad I finally saw them.

Another great concert was the Van's Warped Tour in 2000. This was when it was still a true punk show and hadn't sold out to the masses yet. I remember that concert vividly in Orlando at the fairgrounds. So many bands that I loved played that year:

Flogging Molly
Green Day
NOFX
Unwritten Law
Bosstones
Avail
CKY
Suicide Machines
The Dickies
MXPX
Save Ferris
LB Dub Allstars

Awesome time. Photo below of Suicide Machines on the second stage near the end of the concert at night.

Sorry for poor quality - disposable camera pics + zooming in on computer = shit.

When I was down in Peru, I saw that local boys Stalig 13 were coming to town. Not while I was there, but I really wanted to grab that poster off the power pole

Buncha kids. Birthday Party, Butthole Surfers, Dead Boys, Anti Nowhere League, Bikini Kill, Vandals, Big Boys, even some early Suicidal Tendencies. Tons of other flame outs too. Throw in At the Drive In as well.

Mother f@cking zebrahead B@tch!!

I have been listening all week. Gives me nostalgia. I know they are currently over in Europe touring...hoping I can see them live in the US. Never seen them live but it looks like it would be one hell of a show.

I too cannot believe they aren't bigger than what they are. I'll admit matty is great and I tha k him for stepping up..but no one can replace Justin!

Lol! Winner!!!!

That's so cool that you know that. I honestly felt like I was the only person left who remembers them. So cool to meet another fan. It seems like they have a huge following in Japan and spend a lot of time over there.

I didn't know they had a shake up in their members. When did Justin leave?

God, it's been nearly 20 years since I saw them play. Would be so weird to see them live as they are all still early 20s in my mind.
