@AndroidRobot
Thank you! That's how mine would be since it's usually just me daily. I think they look fantastic when they're clean but I don't think I could live with them. I wish I could but I'm a nut

I had the WeatherTechs on my old SUV. Terrible. After a few months they don't look that great and they tend to get sticky. So far, the BMW floor liners are much better quality and feel.

I 100% prefer those to the WeatherTech ones. really nice pattern on them. I just know I'd be wiping them down every single day or putting a towel under my feet to keep them from getting scuffed or dirty, because like I said, I'm a nut.
I guess until BMW makes ones like they did for the F32 with full rubber back and carpet on top, I'll keep the carpet ones and throw down an old rubber mat from my E46M3 on really dirty/snowy days so I can take it off quickly and be clean.

FWIW, you can "debadge" the weather tech mats easily. To me looks cleaner with out the sticker (done it on a few cars now)
For the G05, did the BMW floor liners, but weather tech in the back, because the W tech covers the center. Great fit as always. |

Along the same lines, can someone recommend a seat protector for a child car seat? And what is the opinion on the WeatherTech seat back protector for the busy feet of said child?

I like these because they cover the rear middle part.

We don't have to worry about snow/ice/salt here in the South, so only focused on handling rainy days - for which i prefer rubber over wet carpet. Funnily, my old 5 series carpets which have seen similar treatment and weather, have aged extremely gracefully and look clean and almost new with minimal cleaning effort. They also used to 'look' clean for at least 1-2 weeks before they needed to be cleaned properly. I too am OCD about things being clean, but to echo AR's earlier comment, we differ in our levels of OCD Tempted to just buy a spare set of carpets for rough use and set them aside if/when they are done. Cleaning these every week for 7 years will easily cost more in time. Unlike detailing the rest of the car, where I have some hope that it will last at least a week (unless it rains, LOL, but in which case I won't bother if in the forecast) and have commensurate joy in cleaning the car, this particular one is a minor sore spot. It will get dirty the very next day or two - even with formal shoes used gently over carpet and concrete sidewalks! PS: anybody know any good products to give a rich, dark matt or satin/low-shine look to these liners? I don't want to make this slick or too shiny/slippery. |

Ok, reviving this thread because I just started using my BMW rubber floor mats for the winter and realized... they are mats and not liners. I guess I asked for the wrong thing when I bought the car! The mats would be great for rainy weather, but they are not going to hold water (so to speak) for snowy conditions.
Does anyone know how high the lip is on the actual BMW liners? I wish I could get something like the "Monster Mats" VW has for its cars. Those are fantastic. The weathertech and BMW liner options look decidedly less practical for trapping snow and water |
