what do you mean? are you saying the unlock is impossible?

in my case 3g doesn't matter. i want to use this phone here (tmobil prepaid), korea (3g), and thailand (i believe 1800) so ill be set.

iphone is a quad band phone (850,900,1800,1900), it can be used anywhere in the world once it's unlocked.

to the OP,
the differences between 2g and 3g iphones are 3g and gps, since you will be using it on tmobile, you might as well get the 2g since you wont be able to use 3g network on tmobile and gps needs internet to access google map.

^ yes i am aware of that but like i said in my case i go to korea alot (every summer) and now thailand too. the old iphone will work in thailand but not in korea as in korea everything is 3g network down there.

the dev team is still working on the 3g unlock along with the new ipod touch jailbreak. can't the dev team just buy an unlocked phone (italy/china) take it apart and study that and just work with it for an unlock?

the dev team is still making progress on the 3g unlock but my question is, if they got the regular quad baseband unlocked why don't they release that and release the 3g baseband when completed?
