I got lucky and sold. I say lucky because I started getting paranoid that it was going to crash and burn...but in hindsight I still got out way too early. I was new to crypto, and a friend got me involved. But I did use the gains to pull out my initial investment and used up the rest to buy quite a bit of Ethereum when slightly above $100.

I actually held my composure and made out pretty good with that one.

Haven't touched it in years since.

There were that girl at the early 2000's, she was an angel undercover, absolutely pure and not already marked by other men and their shit - and she met me, few years ahead and more the dark opposite of her.
At that moment I'd decided to turn back the time to erase all my until that day made mistakes at relationships and so on, to restart my entire life.
What shoud I say? You are a way hardwired and at the end, I got trapped into the same schemes and mistakes I use to make because that was every time a part of me. We split few years later and hell yeah, I regret my mistakes and had been partly cruel as I act...but thats the life.
Since I know this experience, I need no timewarps again, it'll show you sometimes just your already known mistakes and the afterwards pain counts double then...

Oh, I bought some in 2007 and spent it within a year when it was still pretty much worthless.

In college I took a Real Estate class, where by the end you could have taken the test and become an agent. We had a guest speaker and his advice was this (in 1988 or 1989):
"Get all the credit cards you can and turn them in for the maximum cash and buy as much commercial real estate as you can, then in a few years convert all that debt to loans" I thought he was ridiculous. Now I realize he was probably more right than I thought.

Yep, same here with me. I have an 11-year old now who I obviously love a lot....but I only had known the girl a month when it happened (I fell for the whole "I'm on birth control" bit). However, his mother has been an absolute piece of work from the day she told me about the pregnancy....and, trust me, she is one of those who continues to frequently cause problems even though it's been 10 years since we've dated.

I was 26 years old....had money...had nothing tying me down...and got caught up. I swore that I was too smart for that to ever happen to me. However, money sometimes attracts evil people with ulterior motives.

It's not just the money it costs in child support (that ultimately doesn't even go to the child), etc.....but it was the loss of independence and freedom. You can't just get up and move across the country anymore, etc.

You are exactly right! The financial end, although difficult, is only one part of the equation. In my situation, I would have paid double the child support just to be able to have been able to spend more time with my boys. She was always concerned money while I was concerned about lost time with my children. Seems that our priorities always fall onto what it is that we don't have. It makes me proud that my boys now see and understand what was really going on versus the bullshit they were fed. Although she is their mother and they love her, they see how she used them then and continues to do so now. The best advice I can give anyone is never to say anything demeaning about the other parent to your children, you'll only lose credibility with them. Kids are smart and they eventually see it for themselves.

I'd simply say listen to your gut, it's an old cliche but you know when something is not right. I've only made one or two bad calls but a) they were huge and b) I knew it was a bad call and didn't have the guts to listen to myself.

I have a long list, but the easy one that would have really paid off is wishing I learned to be fiscally responsible early in life. Instead it took reaching the bottom of the barrel to realize the security and comfort acquired by not thinking so short term. Having financial security allowed me to self finance major expenditures, but also be selective with my employment. This created a virtuous cycle that compounds to this day. I just started a new role Aug 1 that is a significant promotion and I'm ecstatic about it.
