The S55 is the best motor BMW made in a long long time, exhaust Note be damned. The throttle response and cooling are amazing. S14 is slow and... quaint.

I'm somewhat against this, not because the engine is bad (it is not), but is the chassis also properly upgraded for this engine, is this the car front heavy, etc.? If I was to do this I would try to find a lightweight high rev small N/A engine instead

Since I have owned a 1990 M3, I would much rather have the S14 and modify that engine. The sound was incredible with that car (in stock form).

Cool car. Always nice to see folks trying new combos. I still think the S54 is the best swap for the E30 though.
