Makes it a little boring to drive.. but there are some upsides for tracking/racing:

You can hear more clearly what your tires are doing.

You can run any track on any day without the annoying noise restrictions!

You can hear your suspension!

While driving, you can have a stern conversation at the other drivers for not pointing you by!
