M3 LTW was a US only model. Aftermarket swap only diminishes the value of a car like this, even if it's a better engine.
There is a video out there him talking about the Lightweights. Very early on he recognized that this will be a very collectable car and he started buying them up before the values shoot up on them. It was purely for investment. He also claimed something like 60 were built which made me wonder how much research was done before starting hoarding them. |

Only a handful of M1 AHG Studies are out there, asking price ranges from $700K to as high as $1mil. Here's a link to another: https://www.motor1.com/news/238371/1...m1-ahg-studie/

But, he also liked young girls. At 33, he started dating a 16 year old (not his first 16 year old girlfriend, either). |

I have ridden in an E36 M3 LTW with 3.2Euro motor on track... that motor transforms the car... helps it get out if it's own way and makes the normally understeer inclined E36 M3 feel a lot more like an E30 M3.... |

Yes, by all accounts he was all around great guy. So was Rodger Rodas an accomplished driver who was at the wheel of the 450k Porsche Carrara GT they died in. That was a notoriously difficult car to drive at speed even for pros and did not have any kind of electronic stability control. It was considered a hyper car, a step above a super car. Paul Walker owned that car at one time too. I remember hearing they were on cold tires traveling about 95 mph and hit an uneven spot in the pavement rounding a curve that unsettled the car, lost control and hit a pole and burst into flames. I believe their was a lawsuit against Porsche and the driver but don't remember what came of it.

I was actually thinking that as I wrote the comment. I like my odds, though.

And I believe Porsche has had numerous updates on the tires from the OE tire supplier for Carrera GT's but I could be wrong. |

EAG has an M1. I’ve been guessing $1.2M.

EAG has a street M1, not as rare as AHG. 453 Street versions compared to only 10 AHG Studie. Hemmings and BAT have had M1s listed in the last, but never met the reserves (low $400s).
"The partly finished cars were then delivered to German specialist manufacturer Baur where final assembly took place by hand. The hand-built M88/1 engines were supplied by BMW from Munich to be installed in the cars. The completed cars were shipped to BMW Motorsport in Munich for final inspection and delivery. Only 453 production cars were built, making it one of BMW's rarest models. Out of the 453, 399 were road going units while 53 were made for motorsport." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_M1

Might swing up to Scottsdale for the Barret-Jackson auction and see if I can get a few snapshots of em! Plus it should be a fun weekend.
