I would take a restored 72-77 generation Bronco above the new one.

Although my brother had 1989 Bronco-II, I've been a fan of the Bronco. However, I'm not too keen on this new retro like look (whatever it is) in its return. I liked the body styles from 1977 – 1996 especially the 1982 custom Bronco 4X4, Juan the Bell Maker’s “Little Mule” Pepe, from the 1984 movie 'Romancing the Stone'. Always remember that off road chase and the Bronco doing the Lupe’s Escape ramp jump.

Can’t wait to see hoards of these being driven by sorority girls and frat bros on college campuses all across the US.

It doesn't look anything like the original Bronco.
Just another lame SUV if you ask me. Where are the sporty cars at?

I'd much rather have a Ford than a Toyota. Both my Lexus LX470 and RX350 had engine failures at 350k and 150k km respectively and left me stranded by the side of the road. Both were bought brand new and always serviced on time. Never had this issue with any other brand. Toyota/Lexus reliability is a myth and I'd never drive one even if it was given to me for free. Replaced the LX with a Nissan Patrol and the RX with a Cayenne turbo and never looked back. And the amount of ignorance on this thread is insane. I for one welcome the return of 2 door body on frame 4x4's with a manual transmission to Ford's line up. BOF SUV > Crossover. Last edited by scoobysaurus; 03-22-2020 at 05:51 PM.. |

The original Bronco was made for a specific purpose - to go from point A to point B, with or without a road in between, made to carry enough stuff to keep you busy at point B and get you back to point A at the end of the day. It was designed for work and it was an effective design. A thumping stereo, isolated cabin and a cushy ride were not on the requirements list. They barely had a heater in them.
Today's vehicles have to please everybody so they end up being a conglomeration of compromises which make a mess of a work vehicle. Can you clean the floorboards of one of these new concept Broncos with a water hose? You could the originals, and probably needed to, every once in a while.

I drive Ford Mustang as well apart from my beloved BMW, looking forward for a test ride of Bronco...Ford Bronco remains to this day one of the sturdiest full-size SUVs around.

I'm not really following this, but will check one out once they hit dealers. I'm far more interested in the LR Defender.

I love the old Broncos and am considering a raptor so I'd say I'm excited to see this. I doubt I'd be able to afford one for awhile but maybe a few years down the road in the used market
