If I remember correctly, they have exclusive access to that particular date to run the race. That date is usually Ascension Day weekend, which allows them to minimize disruption to traffic and business. So yeah, you're probably right on them not wanting to run the race on another weekend.

But the other issue is the considerable expense and time involved in building up the race circuit and taking it all back down. It's one of the same reasons why Australia won't be rescheduled this year either.

I like Monaco for it's close up and personal feel and the close proximity of the camera action.

Me too! I like the swimming pool complex in particular. The quick change of direction and how close they get to the barriers is just amazing.

I think the slow motion shots they show of the cars at Monaco do a great job of showing new viewers how precise the drivers are, lap after lap.

Indeed they are! I'm amazed that they can be that precise lap after lap!

I cant get the video to embed on the forum, but heres a shot of Seb just barely clipping the barrier in slow motion:

Here's one of Perez:

And I think this is closest I've seen someone get to the barrier without actually touching it!

Then again, The Azerbaijan GP is a vanity GP so the expense wouldn't affect them as much as, say, Australia.

If the announcement is made on Monday, that would make the Canadian GP the first race. I have plans made to attend the race, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's postponed as well. They build up the circuit as well, just like Azerbaijan, so their fate will probably be known soon as well

We miss it indeed! That's a really cool montage too. Some of those clips remind me how much reliability of the cars used to play a factor in the outcome.

Read this morning Team Canada has pulled out the athletes for the Olympics (which starts at the end of July) because of the coronavirus. Talk is that the chance that Canada will let an event like Formula 1 go ahead is then doubtful.

Same here. F1 ran an E-Sports race this weekend as well. I tried watching a replay of it but quite after a few minutes. There were a few current and former F1 drivers, but it just wasnt the same.

On the plus side, F1 did air a replay of the 2016 Brazilian GP. That was quite nice but still not the same as watching a live race...

Have you watched Season 2 yet? How are you liking it?

I only watched the first episode of season 1 and didnt bother to watch the rest. I think it was made well, but I dont think there was anything new in the episode that any die hard F1 fan already didnt know.
