Yes I realize that, I’m just talking about known, confirmed cases of this new bug and their fatality/ survivability percentages. As far as predicting the future of incoming, we don’t know, what we don’t know. That’s what we do know.

Mortality estimates of 2% would be very good news for this, much less than for SARS or MERS, but I think you are way overestimating risk of regular flu (I hear more like 0.1-0.2%).

I'm wondering if this spurs a new era of work-from-home. I mean if you think about it, it should reduce cost to some extent (although there would likely be some reimbursement issues) and it's better for the environment of course. Being primarily a service-oriented industry I think the U.S. is ripe for a lot more work from home.

It also means a lot of people are wasting test resources unnecessarily.

Yes, this is bad. The big concern is overwhelming the healthcare system and disrupting supply chain. |

The best news I heard and saw was about the reduction in pollution all around the world as factories shut down from China to Spain.
Air quality seems to be rapidly improving in some areas. That's good news I think. |

And I'm thankful I live in a small town. There's some ridiculous hoarding going on, like the stupid TP mania, but otherwise there are very few shortages which can't be worked around. Someone pointed out today that the price of gas is way down. With all of us working from home, WGAF? If this keeps up, my last fill-up, which was last week sometime, might last me a month or two.

Thanks for this thread, it is a great idea.
Positives: - low gas prices (more related to Saudi-Russia price war, but thank you anyway) - less traffic - less air pollution from less traffic and less electricity consumption - time with loved ones because kids are home from school and many people are working from home - this too shall pass. It has already passed for China. |

Agreed the 2% isn’t what most expected and sort of reassuring I’d say and you’re correct on my influenza number it was off, I stand and corrected, thanks.

Unless you're an investor for whom the panic has wiped out years, even decades, of diligence and delayed gratification. I've been forced to confront the fact that I didn't drink enough, do nearly enough coke, or bang nearly enough slutty women in the '80s and '90s.

I'm in the market for a used Z06. Good news is that used car prices in this segment may come down significantly in the next couple of months.
I've kept all of my retirement in a savings account or put towards my rental properties, guess I lucked out as I see 401k's and investments being slammed. |

Uhm, this is the encouraging thread for sort of good news in these trying times. I’m really trying to forget what I lost since this bug bomb hit Wall St.
