I was in a gas station sometime last year and Suicidal Tendencies (not a well known band by most) How Will I Laugh Tomorrow was playing over the PA. The kid behind the register seemed cool, so I asked, "Who determines what gets played music-wise in here." He looked at me like I was crazy and replied, "Um, it comes from somewhere, I have no idea what this garbage is."

I work in IT and frequent different school systems within my state. On Fridays I'll usually wear funny technology related shirts. I was once in a high school and had a shirt with a cassette tape, a floppy disk, and a VCR tape on it. It says something like "never forget" below the images. A high schooler pointed to the floppy disk on my shirt and said "hey, I know what that one is, you have the 'save button' on your shirt".

I was 30 when I got my first pager, needed it for drug work. They'd been around for a few years but I couldn't justify the expense.

You could stack 45's or albums on the stereo spindle and they'd drop <shudder> one on top of the other so you could listen to a bunch of tunes in a row.

I remember this! I can picture my father sitting next to this massive ass piece of furniture, I recall tales that it was a stereo; it did have a turntable, a receiver and an 8-track. My dad would sit for hours recording 8-tracks from vinyl.

Could you imagine making a tape to listen to now??? Literally sitting and listening to each song as it copied. Cut/paste and drag & drop these days, that is if you're like me and still using dated technology of thumb drives in your car. Streaming services have pretty much wiped out actually having a song stored anywhere now.

I remember going to my doctor for my annual. He's a really good guy, his father was my doctor before him.....anyway I was in good health but I was listing off a number of general complaints.....sore back and knees etc.....he starts laughing at me and tells me I'm aging.......that was just a cruel thing to say.

And you had either that adapter for the stack of 45's or the individual little gadget for each record.

Remember when doctors actually made house calls? They'd come with their black bag in hand.

When I first started school, girls were not allowed to wear pants, we had to wear dresses. I think that changed when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade.

Playing with Jarts that had the steel spikes at the end, not the wimpy weights and standing right next to the hoop while the Jart thrower made their throw.
