I think it is kind of obvious the ///M brand is a engineering brand, created by engineers , therefore it lacks the flair of designer's style. Its kind of childlish, a letter and three basic colors, in my opinion just the core letter of B(M)W, just adding this movement stripes /// like wants to go fast, beeing red as the engine glows, and leving Bavarian blue air behind... that's it. Nothing special, and the true worth is the good work behind, great engines, chassis, racing sport commitment, and bring a sporty version of the balanced saloons BMW sells for its subsistence.

The wrong use of it imho is clearly the confusion they made in recent times just to use it as a trim for all saloons, failing to differenciate M cars which gave the brand its value in the first place.

They still differentiate "real" M cars clearly enough:

M* (C, CS etc)= M car
X*M = Sporty, capable SUV equipped with an M car engine
M**i = Conventional BMW with M trim and some performance oriented parts

M logo meaningless these days. Bmw themselves watered it down by slapping it on just about every car they produce. There are m badges all over a fwd 2 series. Smh

Nike all day. Jordan brand all time.

Take the logo and use eyedropper tool in (for example) photoshop and you'll have them.

The 3D logo, nice to see it gone. Typical design fad of its time. Same with all other 3d-ized logo's, like the BMW roundel, VW roudel, etc.

Back to basics.
