Maybe substitute some guac for the mayo to make it into https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1950022

I haven't had turkeys in the city by my area, do they keep coming back day after day? I wouldn't think they have a small "territory" like squirrels or other animals do.

I doubt it. This is not my forever house. I'm constantly on the lookout for a house with a two car garage. Unfortunately, most have too much house for one person. I went to look at a smaller house with a three car garage. The house was crap. But ohhh, the garage.

I’ve had birds peck at a side mirror on my car, and like others suggest, I think they are seeing their reflections and attacking what they see. A car cover will probably take care of it, or keep your car dirty.

I agree on a car cover. That might be your best option.
You can get a nice outdoor cover for like $100.00, and that might solve your problem.

I don't like to be washing my cars every weekend.
Here's one of my cars that sit outside in the summer time covered with an outdoor cover.
I think 2000cs had a great idea
And it's a lot cheaper than getting your car scratched or dented.

Can't I just shoot them? I really don't feel like screwing with a car cover every morning and every night. If it's raining, I'm going to get wet and dirty on my way out to work and God forbid I break a nail...

I would assume it only happens in limited seasons, so you won’t need the cover all year. And if it is raining or snowing, not as likely to see reflections and peck, right?

You could also plant a screen of bushes just above turkey-eye height along the driveway. Might need it on both sides, tho.

Maybe motion-detector sprinklers would work; those are used to deter some pesky visitors (doesn’t work on in-laws, trust me).

Got rid of our peckers. Use bird spikes. They were pecking a specific area of our gutter (which basically sounds like a machine gun in terms of loudness) for several weeks in a row. I put bird spikes in the gutter and they never came back.

I live at the very end of one of the outer boroughs of NYC. It’s as suburban as you can get in the city. I’m a few blocks from the water, a block away from a huge park. Plenty of wild life running around. It’s common to see deer, foxes, raccoons, opossum, and even a resident bald eagle. And of course, said turkeys. Until some crackhead killed them, there were two peacocks that strolled the neighborhood and stopped traffic when they perched themselves on the awning of a restaurant.

I honestly don’t want to hurt them, unless of course they ding me. I just want to put something out to keep them away.

My brother inlaw found that grape kool-Aid powder keeps Canadian Geese away. They were all over and poop like crazy. No more Geese. I need to find something along those lines.

I see them all the time traveling a few block radius and hanging on the lawn across the street on the weekend mornings. It may be a daily routine but I leave for work early weekday mornings.

Was thinking about your snow blower. Could you keep it in your backyard and keep your car in the garage?

Ideally, I’d put a small shed somewhere on the side of the house close to the gate near the front of the house. A shed in the back yard would mean I need to blow a path all the way to front of house when it snows. No need for that. I wouldn’t just leave it outside. Some dirtbag will steal it. The garage wasn’t thought out by the builder. They put a central vacuum unit on the wall (drivers side if I pull in) that interferes with space to walk around car to steps to house. Shelves are on passenger side if I pull in. Need to lose those to pull as close to right wall as possible. I’ve been looking at houses for months but with the interest rates going up, it’s not a good time. The inventory is still low, so prices haven’t come down yet. I have plenty of equity in current house so when the time is right, I’ll make a move.

Granted, I’m looking for a unicorn; nice size piece of property with pool and two car garage but small house (2,000 sq ft). It’s out there somewhere. It took me years to find my previous house which was perfect. I kind of regret selling my other house but I couldn’t stay there after we split.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! All that an outdoor car cover does is sand the clear coat off of the vehicle under it whenever the wind blows and the car isn't 100% clean and grit-free. Yes, there is such a thing as loving a car to death.

What you need if a backyard turkey deep fryer is off the list is an OCD psycho dog. Westies were historically bred to hunt underground predators, and love to take on 150-pound dogs, deer, bears, and 23-ton garbage trucks whenever they challenge the dog's domain or question their authority.....
