What is it with all this other holiday nonsense. Everyone knows thanksgiving is just the appetizer for xmas. They are the same meal and Halloween is a welcome drink as you enter the xmas restaurant.

We had an electrician install outlets on the sides of our garage and on the lamp post out front so we can finally have Christmas lights after living here 20 years. I'm resisting the urge to string them up now.

I'm with the December 1st crowd. We had the Christmas lights put up on the building and the trees at work last week. I saw the guys working and thought, OK - get them up early before the rush, nothing wrong with that. When I came in the next morning, they were lit up. I went batshit and told the employee that takes care of the building to unplug them until Dec 1.

I remember as a kid doing this, but my memory is shit so who knows. I have just always associated thanksgiving and xmas.

It also might have to do with living in a tropical climate all my life. Not having any seasons maybe the xmas tree was the sign that the "holidays" were here.

I always think of October through January as the 'holiday season,' bundling Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, and my birthday (Jan 20).

Doing it wrong, you are!

My BIL-IL is 12/26. THAT would suck for birthday gifts!

I'm too old to be concerned with xmas gifts and bday gifts for myself. Besides, I already have everything I want.

All my xmas shopping for everyone else is always (usually ) done by the end of October.

When you take the devil into your mouth, you're doomed! For he is lying there in wait for you inside that bottle of TEQUILA. Waiting for you to take him into your mouth. Waiting to get down into your guts where he can do his devil's work. Liquor is the most foul, evil thing in this here world. It destroyed good men like myself.

The Friday after thanksgiving everything goes from Fall to Christmas.

I don't think I'd want to dust all those Christmas tree ornaments or the tree itself if they were up in this dusty old house for longer
