Never thought to mute commercials, rather just change the channel and see what else is on.

I sit and watch every single commercial with complete focus! My late-father worked his entire career as a broadcast engineer, and I appreciate the advertisers who literally put food on our table and kept a roof over our heads as a child by buying commercial time.....

This is a really good point as someone who works in the entertainment industry. Revenue that pays for all the TV programming we enjoy comes from advertising or direct consumer subscription.

With streaming platforms that have no commercials, it’s rare that I watch tv.
I haven’t seen commercials in so long that I sometimes enjoy them. Seeing what’s new and how they’ve changed or stayed the same with different products.

I do miss commercials for movies. I never know what’s in theaters unless I look it up.

On some tv's including LCD's I read it was bad to freeze the screen while waiting for the ads to clear which can mean a short life for the tv.
