On the gender bashing, I love when left lib journalists don't follow their own PC rules.
That's the problem with lying for a living. Eventually you can't keep all of them straight anymore, pun intended.

Right!?!?!? (@ following their own PC rules).

They do a similar song & dance with "trust the science" when it doesn't suit them too.

This article is going to get the writer fired from the CNN staff. Not because it’s baseless, man-bashing, overtly sexual at points, derogatory, ill-informed, and flat out factually incorrect at times. It’s because he forgot to blame the entire situation on OrangeManBad.

But isn't that a qualification to get hired there?

9 speeds is so 2013...

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Would you have respected him more if he'd blamed Brandon?
Sheesh. Such juvenile political rhetoric disguised as humor just doesn't belong here. Tell us what Fox thinks on the subject?

Does this mean Fox will produce an opinion piece that’s pro stick shift?

Did anyone note who the author is?
“ Editor’s Note: Paul Hockenos is a Berlin-based writer focusing on renewable energy in Europe.”
Not a car guy, hence article is irrelevant.

Anybody with half a brain can correctly operate a manual. I think we have proven an intellectual capacity issue…how do these people function….

I'm old, 78. I've had manual transmissions most of my life in sports cars. The only manual I've ever loved was not in a sports car but in a 1987 325 with a ZF 5sp, only after I put Redline 75-90w in it. Everything else from a TR3 to a Miata had just been OK at best, nothing like the satisfaction of a good motorcycle transmission.
I now have a M340i and a new Z4 both with the ZF 8sp trans. I could never go back to a stick shift. Time for me to admit sticks are becoming relegated to agricultural equipment, unless you just enjoy the fun of shifting... and that's fine.

Most likely written by an elitist who lives in a large city, takes Ubers and mass transit, doesn’t own a car or have a driver’s license. Doesn’t understand why people need cars and views them merely as appliances.

Oh no. An interwebs post bashing a multibillion dollar company. I hope your sensibilities aren’t hurt too bad. It was a joke. I’m sure you’ll survive.

That people read anything from the McMedia after what they did over the past 7-8 years is truly amazing.

This is a good point. I'd probably take a good automatic over a bad feeling manual trans. I enjoy the manual in my E92 after putting Redline D6 in it which got rid of the notchiness when it was cold.

At least on an enthusiast forum statements shared typically involve some level of intelligent consideration…unlike McMedia which presents inept opinion as indisputable fact with no room for alternative perspectives.
