Those 2 hits didn't cause Sharks to try to protect the lead. The Sharks caused themselves to try to protect their lead. Calary just out played them.

Sharks need to win the next one or it's going to be tough to get "the mo" back.

On the second hit Sarich led with his Elbow, head down or not, thats dirty.

It looked brutal, I agree. And between collisions like that and players losing their edge and falling hard into the boards when they're trying to prevent (or gain) an icing call, thats why there is a debate for the no touch icing.

If he didn't go face first into the baord explain to me how he was cut above his eye. He was pounded head first into the boards by Phaneuf which is definitly a minor boarding call.

I completely agree, regardless of whether hits were dirty or not, the Flames outplayed the Sharks last night and deserved to win. If the Sharks are just going to keep taking this crap and Shelley, Murray or Clowe aren't gonna do something about it, this series wont last much longer. Campbell needs to start skating better, more like he was when he first got here, McLaren needs a wakeup call, and Cheech and Michalek need to find a way to be productive to relieve some of the pressure off of Joe.

He put his shoulder into him. Not Sarich's fault Marlow had his head down. There was a reason no penalty was called on it.

btw...this is playoff Hockey. Refs and calls don't win or lose games. Goals do.

I didnt realize the joint between your upper arm and forearm was called your shoulder.

And if you read my post above yours, I didnt blame the refs for the loss, unlike Mike Keenan after game 2, I blamed our defensive stars for playing like they have never played hockey before and our top line for failing to relieve any pressure from Joe at all. We didn't get any favors from the refs, but we lost that game all on our own.

Never lifted elbow, he does lower his shoulder and lift...but that's a legal check.

His shoulder wasn't lowered, it was elevated as you can see at :28 into the video clip I posted. Sarich hit Marleau square in the nose with his elbow.

Not to bring up old topics, but Sarich knew it was an elbow too, why else would he have skated into the box after the play?
