Which tariff is best that OctopusCompare app will help with, use the car for a week and charge it in the Inteligent go window and then the app will tell you if it’s best for you and your usage to go with that or something else.

Tracker is a fixed rate over the day that changes each day.
Agile changes in ever 30 min window. Peaks at 5-7pm above normal prices, but also on a few occasions is positive. So we charged the car, during a few weekends during the day, washing on all sorts, at the end of the day we got paid for using energy.

You do need to decide if that is a hassle or not, but in checking with this post it’s still cheaper for us and the X1 that IOG.

In the last week it was £37.20 for Agile and £44.80 for IOG and interestingly the fixed daily tracker rate would have been £42.10 over the same period as a comparison for our usage of electricity. IOG higher rate during the day for some doesn’t give the savings on a smaller battery slower charging hybrid for us than a full EV would.

On the subject of charge rate......

We just charge the X1 to 100% each time it's plugged in - which is most days it's been used.
But not every day, if the Taycan is charging overnight it gets left.

Taycan is charged to 80/85%, unless a long journey planned next day - and then it's 100%.

What you don't want to be doing is leaving batteries for long periods fully charged or empty.
So, don't charge to 100%, or leave empty and then go travelling for 6 months!

Do you know if the live rate you are charged is linked to the 'price per MWH' graph hear the bottom of this page from National Grid ?

I do indeed yes, today for example like that demand is dropping so much that for 2hrs this afternoon the rate is below 5p, between 9am and 4pm its below 15p and most of that is below 10p. So for me with kids at home still through the half term that's quite a saving over the 25p rate that I would be on with IOT.

But we are all very different energy wise so thus why a check on one of the Octopus comparison apps is really helpful as one persons advice vs another persons usage is pointless.

So today is a plunge price day, tend not to use the car at the weekend much so we have been able to charge the car from 10am to 3.30pm today with a cost of less than 1p and most of it -6p so we are getting paid to charge the car, doesn’t happen often but nice when it does.

You do need to check it or get the alerts if you want make the most of it but some might find that a pain. The rough is coining 5pm-7pm can be 30p changes so it’s not for all.

Since my last fill up of petrol (Monday this week), I’ve covered around 200 mile, 180 odd of those have been on pure electric.

The computer tells you the amount of miles the ICE has done and also the electric motor.

Don’t stamp the pedal and this engine combo is very economical.
