ya, I hear that. I have a lot of Vicodin hear thaat i've gotten from my dentist. My rule has always been, 36 hours of pain meds(and I'll enjoy it!!!), if needed, after that "you just have to deal with it". i've seen/heard of too many people basically ruining there lives with this stuff. One day of pain, is better than ruining my life.

The lithotripsy is no bargain either, but it better than trying to pass a larger stone or two. By the way, the lithotripsy does not eliminate the stones. It just breaks them up into smaller pieces that you still have to pass.

Note to self: Avoid kidney stones at all costs.

My father had this problem and he had it removed with laser. The laser breaks down the stone in small pieces but it does hurt a lot when you try to get rid of the small pebbles. It's definitely not the best situation to be in. Good luck

4 the ultra sound or the lithotripsy??

hope u wont need more than ultrasound operation, u just wait 4 ur turn, n when ur there, u ware the operation custom (opened from the back)

then they give u some drugs so u wont feel the pain, the place were u sleep in is cool, with water underneath u
then they start the shots, u will feel like small needles hitting ur body but it wwont hurt, n they can adjust the power of the shots, maybe in the last mins. of the operation ull feel little pain but its normal

the lithotripsy is a big one, ull have 2 b in the hospital 1 day b4 the operation, and at 12 midnite u stop eating n drinking (better stop eating at dinner time)
on the operation day, u take a bath n ware the custom, then they give u small amount of drugs, b4 entering the operation room, they give u that drug that will put u 2 bed n u will only wake up in bed not knowing that the operation is already done!!!!!
the few days at the hospital after the operation r kinda hard, u will have ur own mobile toilet, with a pipe sticked 2 ur (****)

u have 2 drink as much water as u can so the kidney is cleaned & they can release u when ur piss doesnt contain blood.

oh i also forgot 2 tell u, in the lithotripsy, they plant a mini pipe inside ur body, so the stones wont scratch ur innir body, maybe a month after u finish the operation, they will do u a small operation 2 remove the pipe, but its a small operation, u will leave the hospital the same day of the operation

P.S.: these info r referenced 2 our hospitals and health system, maybe the time u spend in each step is less or more in ur country...
