I tried this link on my partners car who's recieved the red 'Important - Vehicle Safety Recall' letter.

The link said therre were no recall notices found, so that link doesn't fill me with confidance.

Yep, I’m in the same situation- the letter I was sent says my car is part of the recall, the link says it’s not part of any recall?

I’ve updated the software to 11/2024.30 as instructed. I wonder is this classed as a “fix” for the recall and as such cars with this update are no longer flagged with an outstanding recall thus allowing BMW to release a load of cars held by a stop sale?

Sometime in August this year I was told. Can’t remember exactly which one, but it was the week before my car was built.

I had IBS repair #2 today. I was told it was an updated part but in my conversation with the service manager he said the total job I had completed in august needed to be completely redone. -

The first recall was issued in February. At that point BMW thought the problem was resolved, so they started fixing the recalls with part they thought were good. That went on until the first part of August.

The middle of August they realized that some of the parts they had been using since March were also defective. So they issued an updated recall. Some cars that had the recall fixed before that date had to get new replacement parts because they had been fixed with defective components (mine was one of them)

Thanks both; my build was mid-November, so hopefully it's not subject to this fault. I have asked the dealer to confirm, in any case, before the handover.
