Can we drop the military ranks?

Do people really sit around and examine every possible thing that could possibly offend someone and attempt to purge it? Not only from their lives, but from everyone elses as well?
Stop wasting your lives walking on egg shells. I doubt any military people get offended by this...we know the difference between the real world and make believe...do you? As for those who don't want to be associated with the military, I wonder if you will be so self-righteous should you ever need us to protect you, your loved ones and your homes...

OP you are just a bit too sensitive. IMO the military ranks should be removed mainly because they are just stupid and pointless. I'd rather have people put up something that they wrote on their own.

Just as an aside, I don't believe anyone on this forum goes around spouting that they are a General on Bimmerpost.com.

They are simply an arbitrary ranking system (barely a level above using straight up numerical designations) that has been employed.

I personally think it's harmless, could be a lot worse. Some ppl get too easily offended, that's what's made the world too politically correct.
