Mercedes has had some issues with their fuel pumps and injectors in the past too. About the customer care, I think BMW has done more than Merc. I had a friend who had to restart the fuel injectors by turning off and on the car while driving (!!!). That's the only workaround he has found after Mercedes said they won't repair the defect.
