I was just like you in high school lol I avoided alcohol like the plague cuz I didn't want to mess up my football career but entered college and like BAM just like that haha. For me personally, alcohol loosens you up so you can actually have fun, approach strangers, have laughs at other people that are drunk, etc. Beer and any straight liquor for the most part won't taste very good your first time, much like coffee.

Hurry up and finish wrestling, you're missing out on the other half of your life.

I drink socially to have fun. I don't really like drinking to get drunk. I used to hate the taste of alcohol, but now enjoy a good beer/wine. Or even good liquor. I'm actually thinking about taking the level 2 sommelier test. Love pairing food/wine; choice of beverage can definitely enhance a meal.

In HS did you have colleges busting down your door to come play football for them?

Seriously. Last I checked other then fake wrestling there is no "Pro" wrestling that makes you any money.

Avoiding alcohol/beer for sports unless you have the chance of playing PRO or at least getting a full ride to college is the worst reasoning. At least say it's your personal choice.

I stopped drinking from about 23-25 because I just had no real desire to do it. Now I'll drink socially, or sometimes have a drink with dinner to unwind - plus I enjoy the taste of it.

Sadly your right, there isnt a whole lot of money in wrestling, but there is this little event called the Olympics that people train for and put a lot of time into. I wish I could make the millions that football players make but I realized a long time ago its not gonna happen. And yes like you mentioned it did happen to get me a free education so I think Im doin alright.

But truly it was a personal decision, I made the choice not to drink a long time ago. Just never saw the point, and never got into it. Again nothin against it, and I like to go out and have a good time, and usually end up being the DD so I guess it serves a good purpose.

If I drink it's to get drunk. Most affordable beer doesn't taste good. I like Shock Top, Landshark, Stella and Redstripe. Any European beer is mouth sex and gets you fucked up really quick too.

I avoided beer (and weed) almost entirely through highschool until my senior year. I never realized how much more loose it makes you. It also made me loosen up as a person when I'm sober. I've noticed that people who haven't been exposed to alcohol (and again, maybe even weed a few times) are too high strung and more often than not annoy me.

I don't drink as much as I used to, though. I'm really liking my gf, so there's no reason to loosen up and prowl for girls, and I don't smoke much weed anymore either. I've also quit smoking cigarettes cold turkey (and have absolutely no cravings).

Oh, and beer will absolutely fuck with your physical fitness if you're someone who goes to the gym. Damn, as soon as I saw the slightest sign of a beer gut I stopped drinking for like a month just to kill it off. Now I'll have a 6 pack and a few shots on the weekends. Enough to be loose, maybe drunk.

In all honesty, I usually am the DD. But, on occasion I do drink. Since I still am I college I find myself drinking keystone lights, Coors Light, Miller Light. But, I'd much rather buy a 6 pack of some good to get a good buzz rather than drink 12 beers of some shit just to get drunk. I enjoy Rolling Rock, Stella, Fat Tire, and Great White (Which is the best ever).

As for hard liquor I usually spool out 5 more for a decent bottle of Skyy Vodka, but can definitely enjoy a glass of Jameson from time to time. I used to stock liquor at a local grocer, so don't get me wrong. Yeah I may be 19, but definitely don't act my age for the most part.

Happy drinking E90post

I dislike beer and I rarely drink now, but when I was younger I was all about getting drunk as fast as possible, so lots of shots of 151, Patron, and cheap beer. As for drinks now Red Bull and Orange Stoli or Patron on the rocks with a lime and I do enjoy a Carbomb!!!

Reason for pregaming before clubbing too!
I drink for the same reasons as you except I like to enjoy a good cold one. Sometimes i wash my car on the weekends and drink one or two st. pauli's or grolsch's. Nothing beats a good cold beer IMO

Great. Keep it up. I hope you're good to think Olympics. The US only takes what... 5-10 guys for wrestling? Unless you can qualify to be included in another county cause of your heritage. Good luck.

Sorry to jack the thread, but yes, only one guy per weight class for a total of 7 guys on the Olympic team. And thank you.

I suppose not. I forgot to separate the emoticon and the sentence. I'm just saying that stuff is nasty..."enter" I got messed up bad so I'm staying from hard liquor/alcohol in general for a while.

drinking helps me loosen up/unwind and forget about stresses of the week (work etc). Certain foods also tend to taste better w/ beer or wine so I drink periodically if I'm having a Filet. But when I'm on vacation or at the beach I tend to get smashed b/c its just that much more fun...

It's never the real hard stuff that you remember. It's always the ish like Jager or Captain Mo. I still remember a bad night with the Captain I had like 4 years ago. I only had like a quarter of the bottle but it was the only taste I could remember. I've had like one other taste of Captain Mo since that night.

That's true. We used to drink Cap Mo a lot. We then switched to tequila for a while. Then the last party we had people brought a bunch of different shit so mixing it up (drinking this and that) didn't do too good for my body. At some points we took like 5 shots in 10-15 minutes span. I'm sticking to beer from now on.
