Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the CTS-V, ACR, and ZR1 hold records at the Nurburgring?

Sure - but those cars wouldn't be very competitive in F1....

are you saying that Sprint Cup cars aren't adept at road tracks? keen observation there. however, it's neither pitiful nor hilarious...it's just a good test of the drivers in the series to navigate courses that the cars were ultimately not even designed for.

i'm a big fan of F1, Indy, and Nascar. if you don't like one series or the other it's because you don't get it, not for any other reason.

I sense a lot of sarcasm in your response. And yes, I was saying that neither the cars nor the drivers know how to handle a road course. It is funny watching them flounder, and it is pitiful that they do. But then again road courses just arent what they do, I mean common there are right hand turns

Where did I ever deny not getting it? I know that I dont understand the appeal of nascar. Its why I dont watch it.

Unfortunately, the USF1 debacle will have ramifications for the world's view of americans. The world judges the us by the actions of its citizens and the stereotypes of americans that they already have. The world's view of americans is that we are a bunch of overweight idiots who cant really do anything right anymore, USF1 has added more fuel to the fire in that regard.

Im still angry that the plans for a NYC GP were scrapped. I mean, we close the damned city down every year to see a turkey and Santa travel to 34th street. Why not F1 cars?

NYC F1 will be interesting ....but the city need to fix so much potholes....

They also added bike lanes separated from the normal traffic by concrete curbs. Broadway is only 2 lanes of traffic now

Concrete curbs eh? sounds like it can be used as "sleeping policeman" on chicanes...

Too bad NYC....especially when Bernie did said something about interested to hold a F1 GP in Manhatten....

Bloomberg and the FIA were in talks about for a while, but it just never panned out.

Laguna Seca is not designed well enough to accommodate the type of crowd to make it a successful event. I wish tho......it's my personal favorite track to drive

That's true, and Watkins Glen is even worse. Road Atlanta would be mildly interesting as a US F1 track, but for the sheer spectacle, I'm hoping Bernie Inc. can sort out a Vegas night race.

Watkin's Glen is not a spectators track. It is a driver's track, thats the problem. Road Atlanta is too straight to make an interesting F1 course (I for one dont find it that interesting for ALMS either)

Lime Rock would be a better candidate IMO.

If you had driven on Road Atlanta you might change your tune as to how interesting it is....that being said I do not think it fits well with F1 but fits perfect ALMS and series of the like.....

I think Road Atlanta could work... you are pretty much free to roam wherever and it lacks grandstands though... but with the right deal they could work it out. Not ever gonna happen though.

We just need some crazy ass rich person to build a track like the Nurburgring in the US.

Except the FIA would ignore a track of that length. They have pretty tight standards on course length, something around 4 km, I think.
