Traffic is terrible though if you live in the east and work in the west lol. I used to work in Santa Monica and lived only 7 miles east, yet it still took me anywhere from 30-60 minutes to go those 7 miles during rush hour. Forget about taking side streets as they are just as congested as the 10 in West LA.

My friend's friend used to live in Walnut and commuted to El Segundo and it'd take him 1.5 hours one way, AND he put on 80,000 miles in just 3 years. He recently moved to Westchester since he couldn't deal with the drive anymore.

While I agree with you guys that the food is far better out in the east, the commute is terrible if you work in the west.

I contacted someone on craigslist to find a roommate. At first, she seemed cool but she is so freegin annoying after talking to her on the phone. I initially had only one request. That the place has a garage. Not much else. She keeps sending me listings that doesnt have garages and all types of places I dont really care for but I oblige to as long as they have a garage. Now she's just moaning and complaining. I dont know if I want to live with this person anymore... But I have no other leads and I only have 2 weeks. Not sure what to do at this point. Blah.

I guess I could live alone but its going to be much tighter on the wallet to do that. Sheeit.

They charge like $60 but their listings are usually good and accurate. I have used them a few times over the past 7 years and it's worth the money.

Try looking in Palms...it's a lot cheaper than Santa Monica. I don't know much about West Hollywood other than there's a lot of guy on guy action going on at all hours.

I live in Torrance, and for less money than West LA, we got a bigger apartment. It's also pretty safe in Torrance too.
