I'm from a tiny-ass town in southern Illinois, so I've seen/heard just about everything you can think of when it comes to racial fights both verbal and physical while growing up. Though I must admit baby soap as a weapon probably trumps any of my stories.

It really pisses me off when I hear about things like this happening and honestly can't believe how completely fucking ignorant people still are after all this time. I always just tell myself that with every generation a little bit of that mentality dies... Hopefully by the time I have grandchildren things like this will be loooooong gone.

I still recovering from the bike accident. My wrist are pretty much shot. I'm currently getting chaptered out the Army because of that and other physical issues.

Believe me I don't live here by choice. This is where Uncle Sam placed me to go to Iraq from lol. I think this is the worse town I have ever been stationed in. Even Korea was better than here. The soap beating was pretty awesome. I definitely didn't see it happening. Those guys smelled fresh after that fight though. Unfortunately this town is a "Hick" (is that a racist word I apologize if it is) area. It's gets even worse when I go to lodge meetings. They say those have cards that represents them as being in the Clan. I'm defintely with you on the whole by time we're grand parents all this shit will be gone. Unfortunately black people won't let it go. I mean don;t get me wrong slavery was horrible and all that stuff but im ddefinitely not gonna hold a gridge for something I didnt live through. Shit even my great grea great great grandparents didnt.

I think the only time a simple word or phrase can be truly hurtful is if you believe it to be true.

For example:

If some gout says 'hey I f*cked your wife last night' and you happen to know that she didn't f*ck anybody last night (you know, because you are married and you were with her all night, and you can't recall the last time you got laid)

A guy saying the same thing, yet your wife was uncharastically not home before the sun came up, and when she did get home she went straight for the shower etc etc

Everyone is different but it's still hurtful. Last time I went for a visit to the US the border guards pretty much treated me like a terrorist suspect, took me in for questioning, took fingerprints,etc etc. no one was being an outright racist, I was not being charged with any crimes but I felt like shit. Sounds stupid but just having someone think that I could be such a horrible person is offensive to me.
