I like the swivel screen for odd angle shots and there are damn few new 50D bodies out there. The ones that are available are expensive as hell. The 60D is $900, so it's within reach if I can get a decent price for the T1i kit.

oh yeah thats true then, go for it. I was gonna suggest picking up a lightly used 50d if you wanted to go that route to save some $ but it doesn't sound like it'd be much difference, maybe 100-200 bucks.

I would take a 50D with micro adjust over a 40D or a 60D. Never considered upgrading from a 40D to the 60. As for the swivel screen, how often would you hold the camera at funny angles where you couldn't compose through the viewfinder? Additionally, I thought I read that the 60D was not really an improvement to the XXD line over the 50D.
B&H would probably give less than what you could sell it for. They would sell it for what you could get, meaning they would have to pay ~ 50% of what it is worth. A used 50D would be ~$650 on POTN (Canon specific forum) Congratulations of the 10-22!

my buddy uses the swivel screen on his all the time, his back is a little messed up though, so it makes it so he doesn't have to lay on the ground for shots.
most people are never going to use the micro adjustment, this is why canon got rid of it for the 60D |

I'm liking the 10-22mm. It doesn't look like it here, but I was practically touching this derelict baler with my leg. I was standing that close. This lens is unreal.
Doesn't do bad with sunsets either.

if you stick that lens on a FF camera, you get a neat optical treat of having a circle around the picture.
not really designed to go together, but my buddy has the sigma 10-22 and it looks fun on my 5DII don't know if yours will fit however... might be fun to find out for future reference though. |

I used to put my 10-22 on my 5D.. that was before i went out and bought a 17-40.. you have to remove the black plastic ring in the back or it won't go on.. just pull it out with your fingers.. takes all of 2 seconds...snaps back in easy too..
it's usuable up to ~14mm .. it starts to vignette at anything wider.. I wish I still had the 10-22.. I would use it for rig shots at 14mm on my 5DII which i can't do with the 14L because it doesn't accept front filters .. |

It all depends upon what you shoot. Let that be the judge of which camera you would like to get.

And to be fair, she's actually pretty good about money. If she left me to my spending ways, we'd be in deep doo-doo because I tend to over new toys. Speaking of which, we're supposed to be in the mid-60s later this week. Can't wait to get some shots of the Z4 when it comes out of storage now that I have an assortment of glass to experiment with.

Don't get me wrong Mark, my wife is the same way but with what I take pictures of, I have a valid point for purchasing. What do you like to take pictures of? For example, what I did yesterday 300mm F4 1/640 and 3200 ISO - High school musical rehearsal for Fiddler on the roof Freebie, I do it for kicks so getting that 5D for its low light goodness would be a financial stretch and the 7D for its AF ability would be too. The 7D would be more likely to catch shots like the Blue Angels or jets in general with its faster AF. So it depends on what you shoot, the 50/60D would give me the same as the 40D- Adequate The closer I get to retirement, the more I know what I want to do. One and three are pretty much covered, so now I need to work on item two. 1) 2) 3) Hawaii
